Extremely Disappointed – Longtime Customer Let Down
I’ve been a loyal Kohl’s customer for years, but after my recent experience, I’m seriously reconsidering ever shopping here again. I was shocked to learn that they’ve quietly done away with the grace period for Kohl’s Cash – something many regular customers have relied on. There was no clear communication about this change, which already feels like a slap in the face to loyal shoppers.
What made things worse was the appalling customer service. When I reached out to get clarification, instead of kindly explaining the new policy, the representative was incredibly rude and dismissive. Rather than offering help or even basic courtesy, they immediately blamed me for not using the Kohl’s Cash within the valid dates – as if I had intentionally missed it. No empathy, no professionalism – just cold blame.
I expected better from a company I’ve supported for so long. This whole experience left a sour taste, and sadly, I no longer feel valued as a customer. If this is how Kohl’s treats loyalty, I’ll be taking my...
Read moreThis rating is focused mostly on the store not so much the Kohl's brand.
I've visited Kohls stores around California and in a few other states. This store in particular tends to be more disorganized and dirty than others than usual and the changing rooms are sometimes straight pin filled and piled up with clothes. The selection of sizes can be hit or miss and your ability to find a size in the displays can be daunting.
On the plus side there are very much worse Kohl's and clothes stores out there and staff have always been reasonably helpful and friendly. For these reasons I do still shop here.
The business model of the brand is that for reasonable prices you have to time it with the sales and coupons and cash back and all that. I find it exhausting and often for smaller things I will just go elsewhere for more money rather than making the drive to find out all the deals ended the day before. If you like gaming deals and paying attention to when they start and end etc, then the brand is...
Read moreI had 6 ideas on how to spend my Kohl's cash from a knifeset that had a display but no real set in store, to king pillows advertised, to a book I saw there last week, to espresso glasses, to slippers, and gloves. The first 4 items were not there, and I didn't like the quality of the memory foam slippers (too squishy with a hard sole, no real support) or gloves (fat stitched clumbsy fingertips). I ended up finding some shirts, frustrated with the whole experience that took too long, and they were out of the normal sizes of most shirts (med/large) and most things you'd want definitely weren't on sale. Last time I tried using Kohl's cash, they reduced the % off from a coupon I applied, which actually increased the total price to more than before I applied the supposed 'discount' so I ended up having them void the transaction. So frustrated. Only not a 1 star review because the employees are polite, and you can sometimes find quality for a...
