I was on a mission to locate the Liberty Helix 182 for my son; I stopped in to the Main Street shop on a whim just before closing on Saturday, March 26, 2022. We were greeted by a lovely gentlemen who gave us his full time and attention. While he could not help with locating the Helix he was so helpful in my own quest to locate a new ski for myself. He made suggestions and suggested we demo; he called the Park City location 3 minutes before closing and made sure they would hold the ski I wanted to demo. He never made us feel rushed and he made us feel welcome and important. I had stopped into another shop looking for the elusive Helix earlier in the week and the contact with lacking warmth and interest; I never moved forward to talk about my interest in purchasing a new ski and I vowed not to return to that shop again to shop. The kind gentlemen gave me his card on the way out; I did not look at the card until I arrived at the base camp on Sunday, March 26, 2022 to collect the demos. It was then I learned the kind gentlemen was none other than shop owner Jackson Knoll He had been so unpretentious and helpful with recommendations the night before it never occurred to me he was actually the business owner..
On arrival to pick up my demos I was met by a young man named Kayo Fitzgerald. I am a 56 year old female skier; an intermediate. I am not a confident skier and was feeling "old" "unhip" and that perhaps my ski days were waning as I had been skiing poorly. Kayo intently listened to my tale of woe, listened to my ski history and skis I had previously skied on, asked intelligent follow up questions on my skiing style and skiing experience, and then made some really thoughtful suggestions on what skis I should demo and how to demo them. He did not make me feel condescended to and he made me feel important. He also did not make me feel like he was "selling" any product but rather the idea of finding my ski. I took the women's Liberty out, I liked it bit did not love it. Kayo recommended a few others but told me based on what I had shared that he thought I would like best the Head Joy. I took the Joy out 2nd and that was it... so much fun to ski on I did not come in until I had to. I bought the demo on my way out for a a very fair price. It was a joyful experience to demo and buy from you folks and I had the ONLY joyful day of season 2021/2022 skiing on Head Joy's.
The the entire store was customer service oriented and everyone asked how they could help. Everyone was upbeat, polite, friendly and knowledgeable. and no one tried to sell me anything other than a good experience demoing skis. I highly recommend their services, both demo and purchase of...
Read moreI was treated discriminately here. All minorities, please don’t go to this store. I was here to try some performance gears, which usually are hard to evaluate the fitting. So I tried once and went back to do some research about the specs. Then, when I went the store right the next day to decide the final size and buy, there was an old white man (maybe the owner or manager) told the nice girl who was serving me to stop serving. “That’s enough. You have been through all these yesterday right? There’s no need…..we are very busy now.” he said. I told him that I feel the boots I tried yesterday were tight. So I’m thinking about to size up and try again. And he said to the nice girl JUST BRING HER THE BOOTS AND LET HER THINK. At the same time, there were two white customers trying stuffs again and again.
My upset came from that they were kindly serving a white guy who was also trying many pairs of different size boots while ask me to stop trying because they are busy. I was doing my best to reduce their work load by fitting the gears by myself and packing them up by myself.
Eventually I bought what I need here in the store spending several hundred dollars, thanks to the nice girl serving me kindly. I feel very disappointed to the city due to encountering racism again and again in ski resort (I know this is the most racist place). I may go back to California nearby resorts even the snow is not as good as here. At least the people there treat...
Read moreWe skied three days last week on our first trip to Park City Utah. On arrival we went into three different shops and checked prices and talked to the people about their equipment. Jackson’s Base camp is located in a prime location very very close to the slopes. The owner Jackson actually greeted us and was very nice and helpful. Their prices are aggressive for very nice equipment. Most of the equipment is very new my boots were brand new and the snowboard that my son rented was also brand new. If you rent for two or more consecutive days you as well get 25% off which was a big savings for three full set ups. All of the employees that we encountered in the shop were extremely friendly and helpful. We checked our skis in to their check skis area at the end of each day and it is set up very user friendly. One of the best parts of using the shop is at the end of each day if you go back into the shop and just sit down in any of the seating areas one of their employees will run up and help you remove your boots which was awesome at the end of a tiring full ski day. in the morning as well when you go to retrieve your skis if you sit down in this area they will run up and help you put your boots on also. We had a fantastic ski trip and renting from this shop was a really good experience. I would highly recommend anyone skiing in Park City to rent from...
