As an early resident of this building, I can tell you my experience has been horrendous. In just a matter of weeks there were more floods than I can recount, closing main corridors of the building for months. When we toured we were promised that the roof deck and pool would be open in early spring (April)..it is now Mid June and neither are even finished being built. In my experience the management of this building (Priderock Capital Partners) is grossly incompetent and in my opinion their lack of proper management has put residents and their animals lives at risk. My take away is simple: do not move in to this building (even if they give you 6 months free rent)
As a part II to save management the time of copying and pasting their cookie cutter reply (as they have done for all the other 1 star reviews) I have debunked that reply below (CAPS ARE MY WORDS)
First and foremost, thank you for taking the time to share your concerns with us. The View at Old City's number one priority is the well-being of our residents and team members. Due to the mandatory "Shelter In Place" restrictions, much of the construction had been paused."---THIS BUILDING WAS SUPPOSED TO BE COMPLETE IN JULY 2019, THE FACT THAT ANYTHING WAS NOT COMPLETE WHEN TENANTS MOVED IN JAN 2020 IS A FAILURE ON THE PROPERTY MANAGERS FAULT TO MANAGE THIS PROJECT --Upon signing the lease, we did alert all of the residents of the building construction status. We have and continue to offer great move-in specials throughout the final construction phase to offset any inconveniences that may have arisen." ---THE INCENTIVES YOU OFFER ARE ON PAR WITH MOST OTHER NEW CONSTRUCTION BUILDINGS SO IT IS MISLEADING TO SAY THESE OFFSET THE LIFE AND SAFETY HAZARDS WE HAVE HAD TO DEAL WITH IN ADDITION TO THE INCONVENIENCE---"We are diligently working towards completion. We want you to have a positive experience in our community and we would certainly appreciate speaking with you personally in further detail about how we can make things better for you. Please don't hesitate to speak to anyone on our team at anytime." --THE MANAGEMENT TEAM IS COMPLETELY INACCESSIBLE, LITERALLY LOCKING THEMSELVES IN THE OFFICE AT TIMES, REFUSING TO ANSWER CALLS OR EMAILS---We appreciate you and all of our resident's patience and understanding as we have experienced a few growing pains. Thank you for being a valued resident---WE ARE NOT VALUED IN ANYWAY, IF WE WERE YOU WOULD TAKE OWNERSHIP OF THE ISSUES THAT WE HAVE FACED---- The View at Old City...
Read moreI would like to address all the inaccuracy in most of the posts below. I have lived in this community for 5 months. I moved in February the middle of winter and all amenities where completed with the exception of the pool and the roof. I have experience some of the issues addressed below such as fire alarms, and construction with that being said I understand what I was moving into. My move-in concession was great 3 months free rent and parking. I lived for 3 months free in old city, in a corner unit with great views it was a âNo Brainerâ! I have lived in multiple luxury buildings throughout the city many that were still under construction. I moved in with full knowledge of the corporate suites on the 2nd floor my prior buildings had 2 - 4 floors of suites. It was not an issue to me. Every property Iâve lived at has always had this component. I have had no issues with the guest on the 2nd floor. The guest I have met most working in the banking or healthcare have been really nice and polite people. The Flood they are speaking about happened and it was resolved. The residents still live here and have a better unit. When COVID-19 lockdown went into place the management, team graciously provided us with survial bags with disinfectant wipes, paper towels, toilet pepper, snacks and wine from trader joes. Something they didnât have to do. I have lived in ultra-luxury buildings and never received something like that. The fact that everyone living in the building had a choice not to live here and choose too stay says a lot are they entitled or have nothing better to do. They didnât mention that they had a social distancing BBQ this past weekend. The negative cloud that is being casted by âunhappyâ residents is unfair and there group text which i'm on shows they have nothing better todo but complain about issues that happened over 4 months ago They arent mentiong the dog park, largest ive every seen at a building in the city is open and has been open throghout covid. I would take into account the reviews below with a grain of salt and see for yourself. As the reviews these are friends of residents. The only thing I would change is not getting the corner unit with views of the Franklin Square and...
Read moreAlthough The View drew me in with a good early bird rate and its spacious private dog park for Center City, things went horribly downhill during and beyond my two years of tenancy.
Months after receiving a check with my security deposit refund, I was sent to collections without prior notification even though I provided several forms of contact. Mind you, I took steps to prevent this. Prior to moving out, I paid off all my dues and requested a copy of the ledger from management to confirm I had a $0 balance.
Overall, it took almost a year to resolve and only ended when I finally got through to management, who very casually said that I was in the right. They had been nearly impossible to contact (with team members constantly changing), and claimed it âmust have just been a system error,â but that doesnât return the copious amounts of stress I had to endure over this.
Beyond the sour taste this left behind, The View also had many issues while I was a tenant. Street doors were often left broken, or propped, voiding the purpose of having a fob lock door for safety. The loading dock was also broken for much of my tenancy with a huge metal door barely hanging onto its hinge, which was also a safety issue.
The AC system was also a big problem. During seasonal changes they would perform maintenance that would result in only hot or cold air working, not both. Multiple times, this led to errors wherein the cold air wouldnât work during some of the hottest summer days, or the heat failing when it was necessary in the cold.
There was also a major instance where a neighborâs pipe burst flooding every floor, which I was only informed about when I returned home and saw the damage. This was just one of the many defects of this poorly constructed building that management not only fails to maintain, but adds onto with their...
