I caught the show on 12-13-2021 and really enjoyed it. Brian bears a striking resemblance to Red and his act was certainly on point if you remember Red’s routines. It’s obvious that the performer himself is in sync with who Red Skelton was as well and is not just reciting memorized lines. There are moments that brought a tear to my eye, not just out of nostalgia, but of patriotic pride and the power and necessity of comedy to heal. The theater itself is cozy and the seating is very comfortable. It is tucked away in a corner of a strip mall that does not make it visible from the road so I found it by accident, but boy am I glad I did. The show is very family friendly. The audience on the day I went consisted mostly of older, married couples. That’s the perfect audience for it but the show, as I said would be a fine outing for any family. There are plenty of souvenirs that can be purchased to help support the theater as well, in addition to some nice memorabilia.
I attended the show because I love Red Skelton’s comedy and I like supporting smaller creative endeavors. It’s amazing how much fun you can have wandering off the beaten path. I also was on a scouting mission to see if my own Gusto Theatre Company might find a home in the Gatlinburg area as well. I have a family friendly Colonel Sanders one-man show that is similar in nature to the Red Skelton production. Brian stated that the tribute theater had been around for five years. I certainly wish him continued success and longevity. Go...
Read moreOh my gosh! This was a history lesson. What a trip down Reds memory lane. They have so much info about Reds life! There was so much that I did not know about Ted Skelton. I am 58 so he's just a few years before my time. I had always through the years came across Red Skelton but I did not truly get to know about him until I stepped foot in and through the theatre doors!
Brian Hoffman does a fantastic and a perfect portrayal of Red Skelton. God bless him. His wife by his side and handlingbthe sound booth and the lights is a beautiful dynamic duo that works together to bring you the Red Skelton performance!
Please support the legacy of Red Skelton by supporting the show. You'll take a wonderful trip down memory lane as you peruse the walls of the theatre seeing the art work that Red painted and posters of movies that he was in plus all the stars he hung around throughout the years.
I learned that Red Skelton stood up for patriotism and refused to compromise which led to his show contract not being renewed. I'm still thinking about Reds life due to mybattending Brian's show. There's something about this guy Red, Brian and this theatre. This is a special place!
Oh yeah so BE PREPARED TO LAUGH THE WHOLE SHOW and even prior...
Read moreSaw the Tribute to Red Skelton last night in Pigeon Forge and LOVED the show. The performer, Brian Hoffman, shared memorable moments of several of Red Skelton’s characters and skits. We are huge fans of Mr. Skelton and this show was at the top of our “must see” attractions in Pigeon Forge list. What a show! Walking into the theater and being greeted by Mr. Hoffman and listening to him, we were transported back to memories of Red’s tv shows and specials. Brian sounded just like Red Skelton, smiled just like Red Skelton, and moved just like Red Skelton. Brian Hoffman beautifully portrayed the gentleness, mannerisms and comedic timing of Mr. Skelton. His performance had us both laughing and crying with the happiness of watching Red again. Our favorite part... everything had us laughing, but I cried during the Pledge of Allegiance as it was so beautiful. After the show we walked through the theater and looked at the wonderful collection of Red Skelton memorabilia Mr. Hoffman had collected and shared with us and our hearts were filled to overflowing. These are the memories we cherish. We...
