We stayed at the Wild Things cabin. This cabin was beautiful! It is well taken care of and was in a nice secluded area. The roads there are a little narrow and curvy at times, but overall the drive isn’t bad and the location is great! It’s in pretty close proximity to both Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge, so we had plenty to do around us and were able to DoorDash food when we didn’t feel like going out to eat.
There is also plenty to do around the cabin, such as checkers, a hot tub, various options on the tvs, board games, pool, etc. There is also an Xbox although we were unable to get that working. Housekeeping did a great job getting everything ready and the check in/out process was very simple!
As pictured below, we saw a bear! I thought we would see one at some point in the woods, but he was literally on the cabin! We heard a noise and opened the curtains to find him climbing up the patio support beam and trying to get in through the screen. He ripped it a bit but fled when my boyfriend made some noise. Although it unfortunately let to the patio screen getting a little ripped up, it was a very neat experience! I’m not quite sure what he was looking for since we kept all traces of food inside the whole trip!
Service was great as well. We received a courtesy call to check in our first day there, and then we had to call a couple of times during the trip. Once for the bear and another time for the internet (no worries, it worked great the whole trip! We had some brief issues one morning but was able to get it working after the call) and we were met with help and friendliness both times!
The only downside I’d like to note is the bed in the main bedroom. It has a significant dip in the middle that made it a little uncomfortable and hard to get out of at times. It got the job done and wasn’t that bad, we were just a little sore a couple mornings. Overall the cabin was great and I would 100% come back again and recommend...
Read moreThis was my first time in a Gatlinburg cabin ever, so maybe my expectations are too high. I found it to be very outdated and run down. Will this keep me from staying in other properties of yours? No Pros: I appreciated all the decorations were the same: fishing; all the light switches being labeled; the courtesy paper towels, toilet paper, and bar of soap. I am glad there is a washer and dryer with courtesy detergent. The hot tub is an added bonus for the cabin. It is very close to "the strip" in Gatlinburg. Cons: It's almost impossible to pull in because there is a huge dip from the road to the driveway. There was a line of dead ants on the linoleum floor in the kitchen; there were dishwashing tabs, but no dishwasher; the sink light to the left does not work. The bathroom toilet paper holder is broken, but still there; the shower curtain rod feels like it's about to fall; the shower curtains are too thick and hang on the shower floor; the shower faucet moves way too freely in the wall; the linoleum in the bathroom is coming away from the tub and there's a big hole in it. None of the curtains "meet" covering the windows; the blinds on the front door are too small and broken; the back screen door is torn and off level; the back door has no covering at all. The upstairs bedroom has a creepy attic door that has what looks like pillows on the floor, but looks like something has been sleeping on them. There's also a lock mechanism on that door, but no lock. Thank you for allowing us to stay. I will recommend you to others. This was a...
Read moreThe cabin was as advertised in photos, however, it did not have the items mentioned in the description. The cabin was clean and had plenty of space. A few things to note: In all airbnb, vrbo, hotels, etc there is always a hair dryer, one day of coffee for two, salt/pepper, sugar, a small bottle of dish soap, more than one kitchen towel to be used for our hands as well as drying dishes, etc None of these items are provided so you must know this in advance and can prepare. It noted in the description that a Kuerig is available but it was a regular coffee pot so the pods did not work. Once we arrived and noted these basic items were not available, we had to go back to the store that same day. Also to note, there weren't enough blankets for each bedroom or living area and it got chilly at night with just the bedspread. There was one full size blanket in one bedroom and one small blanket in another. A blanket per bedroom and one on the couch would be more comfortable for future stays. The living room described a couch and love seat. There was no love seat and 4 of us had to pile onto the couch to watch tv. No one wanted to sit in a wooden rocker in the corner for relaxing and watching a movie. All of the batteries in the following were not working in the following: Candles, TV remote for living room, automatic trash can lid to open and close, and the clock in the kitchen. None of these worked. The cabin was clean, it was a nice cabin so hate to complain but these are basic items that should be addressed for a more...
