California Coast Credit Union East Village Branch — Local services in San Diego

I had an amazing experience at California Coast Credit Union this morning (East Village Branch). First of all, the security guard there, Don Axt from Allied Security, was like an absolute angel. I had an accident a week ago and was walking with crutches. He was so attentive, opening the door and helping me into the handicap elevator they have there. He was extremely watchful and helped me out down the little ramp and to the service representative’s chair. He even carried my envelope to the car (I couldn’t carry it with crutches) where my friend was waiting for me! Wow and he was so genuine in his caring.

Also, Rod Canada, the service representative, was amazing and so very helpful and considerate! He made sure I was seated conveniently and brought the things I needed to sign around to me. He even folded the paperwork I needed and put it in an envelope so I could carry it easier. He also asked if I needed him to carry the paperwork for me. He was genuinely caring, attentive to detail and delivered excellent service. It is rare to find employees who put their all into their jobs nowadays.

I really enjoy banking at California Coast Credit Union because the staff are helpful, caring and efficient. Cal Coast also has one of the best fraud departments—they are right on it when something happens. I’m so glad I switched from big banking to Cal Coast...

I have had my account in this line of banks since the early 90’s. This bank does not offer me anything but I have been loyal with all the changes. This week I asked to increase my line of credit, after waiting on hold for 20 minutes, the loan officer ran my credit and said I would learn the results in 24-48 hours after spending my hour lunch break on the phone. After 50 hours I called back and found out that an increase is not allowed. I will be looking for another bank. They don’t have competitive rates, they offer loyalty points with nothing to redeem them with that’s competitive. I have my mortgage elsewhere because they couldn’t get me a sub 3 rate, which I got elsewhere.I use credit cards elsewhere because there is no incentive to use their cards. My savings will be moving because .05 interest rate is not...

Never a bad moment coming here. Both Hillcrest and the Gaslamp locations have the best and friendliest people. You're respected and not just because you have several accounts or lots of money.
