A welcome addition to the Castro for sure. Just inside the door you are greeted with an instagram worthy greenery wall & super friendly staff. To your left is every bottle of wine you can think of for any occasion, and they happen to carry hard to find Lillet Blanc. On the right is an inviting selection of staples, small, pre-made meals, & an impressive cheese section. The take-out coffee, pastry, etc has its own adjacent space, and bonus parklets. This is your go-to place for all things picnic. They went out of their way to track down a product I've seen in their other locations. On this freakishly hot summer day I was pleasantly surprised to experience air conditioning! Very rare in this land of coastal breezes. I'll definitely be a regular to pick up their excellent fresh bread which arrives daily. 100% recommend.

Nice to have a nice option for putting together your picnic or a last minute cocktail inspiration. Use the baskets if you bring your own bags. Lots of amaro and deep collection of spirits. Sparkling wines come from affordable prices.

Excited to have this store in the neighborhood. Friendly staff and lots of goodies. Wishing for more gluten pastry options.

If you're looking for the best bagels in SF, go to the Epicurean Trader on Market St. Ever since they started serving boichik bagels, I think they're better than Schlok's. The bagels are lightly toasted, that pairs excellently with the flavorable smoked salmon. The onion adds a nice crunch and freshness. The capers are plentiful and large balls of salty goodness. If you want even more flavor, switch out the regular schmear for the scallion schmear; you won't regret it.

I would like to give this place 5 stars, but I am quite upset that the menu prices are not accurate. Looking at the receipt, I was charged $19 for the open bagel smoked salmon, when the list price was $17, plus another $1 for a different schmear, which wasn't on the menu nor communicated by the cashier. After tax and tip, I paid over $25 for my bagel. While that is a lot for a bagel, I don't mind paying more for literally the best bagels in San Francisco. I'm talking about bagels that rival New York city bagels. I want to tell everybody about how amazing these bagels are. But, an unexpected $3 charge leaves a bad taste in mouth.

I looked at the menus more closely to see if I had made a mistake. The $17 price is listed twice at eye level: one on the printed menu and one on the display case. Then, I noticed the less obvious menu I hadn't noticed before against the far wall behind the counter, and high up near the ceiling that listed $19. How is the consumer supposed to know which is the correct price? $17? $19?

I thought about raising the issue with the cashier. But at the end of the day, they're just doing their job. It's not there fault if the system rings up the item at $19 or if the menu prices are wrong. This falls on the manager to make sure the menu prices and the system prices are accurate.

In summary, The Epicurean Trader has the best bagels in town. I think it is worth the price. But do not trust the...

Epicurean Trader has been a game-changer for our neighborhood. After the struggles of COVID and the abundance of mediocre restaurants in the area, this store has truly elevated Duboce Triangle in the best way possible. The moment you walk in, you’re greeted by the warmest, friendliest staff who make every visit a pleasure. They’re incredibly knowledgeable and always ready with a recommendation, whether it’s the perfect wine pairing, a unique local product, or just a quick chat that brightens your day. Their selection is absolutely top-notch—artisanal cheeses, thoughtfully curated wines, specialty foods, and so many unique items that you won’t find anywhere else. Whether I’m grabbing something as a quick snack, a special gift, or just exploring, I always leave with something amazing. What makes Epicurean Trader truly stand out is how it brings our community together. It feels like a hub where quality meets connection, and that’s something our neighborhood...

Nice staffs! But it’s hard to convince me to shop there when there is so many $$$pecialty grocery/cafe/ wine cheese sandwich places in Castro/mission/Duboce neighborhood. Sometimes you run out of necessities like orange juice, almond milk, yogurt or something but you don’t even see the brands you like in there. So even it’s closer to where you live, you have to walk to whole foods bite rite mollie instead and on the way to there you probably pass by a few wine juices coffee bakery places…and probably cheaper !!! So what’s the catch ??? It makes more sense this is in marina or ferry building .. but it’s in the middle of an extremely walkable neighborhood mixed with residential and commercial … maybe consider having more everyday living items available and beat your competitors with cheaper prices? Like we really don’t need another place that sells...
