MaiLash Brows - Aesthetic Studio — Local services in Scottsdale

I’ve never made a negative review before but I feel like I can’t not say anything with how big of a nightmare this has been for me.

I went in for a lash lift + brow lamination. (My current artist is out of country) I also want to preface Ive gotten these services done many times over the years so I know the process and outcomes, never once had an issue.

Long story short, my eyes and brows were on fire majority of the service. I finally asked her if she was going to take it off. Turns out she over processed. My eyes were insanely irritated and swollen the entire week with my lashes over curled onto my eyelids. I waited a week in hopes my lashes would fall on their own. They did not so I went in to have them relaxed (a very normal simple procedure). She made my lashes worse than when I came in. I was honestly appalled when she handed me the mirror and told her I could not pay for the original lash lift bcuz my lashes are pointed straight now all in different directions, some even bent and going downwards..so I asked for a refund. Not even bothering to ask about my brows even though the hairs are extremely brittle and wirey.

I also asked ahead of time to please have someone else relax my lashes bcuz I was afraid this artist had no clue what she was doing. Which unfortunately was exactly the case but they wouldn’t let me go to anyone else bcuz she did the service.

Now they won’t even refund the proper amount. A normal lash lift + tint is $80. And complete brow lamination is $80. If you do them together it is discounted at $150. I didn’t even do a complete brow lamination bcuz I didn’t have her tint my brows. A normal brow lamination added on is $40 but I still paid the total amount bcuz that’s what I set my appt up for. They only wanted to refund me $60 which would make the non complete brow lamination $90??? I even tipped her over $20 for this bcuz she was nice and apologetic. And no one has gotten back to me in regards to this sadly.

The place was clean, everyone very professional. Anna was very nice, explained the procedure. I cant say enough good thibgs about her. I showed her exactly what I wanted...cat eye lashes. I wear reading glasses so the image I showed her was perfect for me. I advised I was nervous I've been to 2 other places and t I wasn't happy with the outcome. She assured she would do as i asked. I was hoping this would be time I would see the lashes per my liking.

The last image (with the cat eyelashes and perfect brow) is how I wanted my lashes.. cat eye style. The next are of my eyes. They look nothing like the image I showed her. I wanted short on the inside. The right side has maybe one, then blank then more lashes. They don't look like the image I showed her. The left eye has more lashes than the right. When she was done I didn't say much because from the angle they looked good. I figured I just had to use the little brush to brush them out. I didn't go straight home till after a couple of hours. When I did I took a good look and the images are what I saw. They would have been ok. But they weren't as I wanted and the right side had a lot less than the left. I was wondering why she made the comment that I paid for the "classic" look(?) Does that mean it's ok to not do a good job? I didnt underdog at that time. I'm so disappointed, now I have to wait till the weekend to find another place to correct this mess. And Mailash won't fix it because the waiver basically states, they can mess up and its ok because they have their money. So the customer doesn't matter. I seriously want to cry. I wanted my lashes done because I didn't want to buy the strip lashes anymore. Which I still have to pay for to hide the mess on my right eye until i can find someone to clean it up. And pay more for that 😔😭. I have a feeling the blame will get put on me...even more...

I've been looking for a good brow lamination, and decided on MaiLash based on positive reviews and the photo gallery on their website. My esthetician was Amy; she was really nice but the brows I ended up with are embarrassingly bad. Like so bad that I don't want to go out in public. I generally have straight Korean brows, but Amy decided that "arched brows look better on my face." When she gave me the mirror to show me the end result I was shocked and communicated that this brow shape was not what I expected or was used to. She just kept repeating that "she has had other clients that also request straight Korean brows but with an oval face shape the arch looks better." The part that really upsets me is that she waxed and plucked my eyebrows to make a pronounced arch and so now I'm stuck with this shape for quite some time.

The salon itself is nice, modern and clean. I will be going back in 6 weeks to give MaiLash one more try with a different esthetician. In the meantime I'll have to try and find a way to fix my eyebrows with makeup so I can show my face in public while my eyebrows grow back.

Update: as mentioned in my original review, I returned for a second try at brow lamination and I'm happy to share that I had a much better experience. The brow tech was thoughtful and professional with her work; she confirmed that my last experience was out of the ordinary with respect to the order of treatment (waxing and plucking prior to the lamination). The end result was exactly as expected, and I'll be returning to her in the future.
