This was by far the worst customer service experience I’ve ever had. If i could give zero stars i would. For beginners I went in as soon as they opened around 9 AM for a full set but they said they had no one available to do it,which was odd because they had already about 9 employees in (i could tell because their shirts) sitting down and the place was COMPLETELY empty(of clients) but Since I had been here before I still decided to schedule an appointment for one at 6:30 PM when I got off work and one for my friend to get a single nail fixed on her index finger. We showed up on time, again the lobby and side couch were FULL of employees just sitting around feet kicked up and playing on their phones, we picked our color and STOOD waiting afterward about another 15mins, a male escorted us to the back for our appts and began my full set, my friend on the other hand waited over 30 minutes for them to even began the service she came in for. Then an older woman came over took off her broken nail and left For another 15 minutes. At that point, We asked why was taking so long(as he still working on my full set) and they told us it was because the only person who could fix her nail since it was ombre was the second guy on duty and he was finishing a full set(a walkin that he had began after we came in for our 630 appointment mind you). If they knew he was the only person in the nail shop out of literally about 20 others who could only do that service, which makes no sense Seeing as how you work in a fast-paced nail shop in downtown Seattle, then They should have given the full set walk in to someone else. I am very non confrontational & i feel most people in this situation would have made a huge scene and been pissed! So while we were waiting i was livid to the point that i was shaking and nearly wanted to cry because i was just SO DISGUSTED at how not only they treated loyal customers who set an appt but poked fun at and laughed at us as if we were too dumb to notice. My nails were done by Dennis, they came out okay but unfortunately i wouldnt care if they looked like beyonces nail artist did them, the service was disgustingly terrible. My stomach was in knots when i left. I live downtown so to go here is much more convinient for me and like i said i had been going regularly before and refuse to ever spend another dime there. I will find a new shop despite convinience. I do not care. Businesses need to learn your customer service can effect someones entire day. Women do not go into a salon to be made fun of or feeling more insecure than when they walked in. And There is nothing wrong with being on your phone or relaxing as employees but if you see customers not only waiting in the lobby but STANDING waiting, maybe it’s best if you go sit back in the break room and don’t just be lounging in front of them because it makes them feel neglected as if their business would be appreciated else where. Most People would asked to speak with a manager but in this type of setting the manager would most likely laugh at you with their employees after you left. It was sickening.I will learn to do my own acrylics, full sets, pedicure, etc before i ever step foot into this place again. When this place goes under i guarentee you it will be because of lack of business because of how they treat their guests. Collectively, we as customers, pay your bills to keep that place running and youre just an option. Star nails in south seattle is quite a trip def not as convinient but is where i will be going until i find a good solid nail salon /stylist who truly values their business and treats it like a passion! Not a fast food job they cant...
Read moreI found my visit to Miyano Nails to be disappointing and slightly traumatic. The location is nice, only three blocks from the market; the interior is the standard issue stuff-- walls the color women are supposed to like and framed paintings probably bought in a lot from the liquidation of a motel chain. Upon entering, I was pounced upon by a woman who urged me to pick a color from the hundreds displayed. Given the gravity of this choice, I experienced her haste as somewhat insensitive. Every constituent part of the mani/pedi experience is itemized and billed for at Miyano. Want to use the massage chair while you soak your feet? Billed. Want to have nail polish as part of a manicure? Billed. Etc. I chose basic black for my nails. Then I fell asleep in the massage chair for which I had paid. When I awoke, my nails were misshapen into nubs and the shellac was applied so unevenly that, from the side, my nails have an unsettling chunky and straftified appearance. The nail technician injured my fingers with the manual and electric files, and was unresponsive to my outcries. Worst of all, the shellac was not my usual chic black, but was gold glitter with round black dots--a combination reminiscent of the innards of an overripe kiwi fruit, and not a good look for a lady of a certain age. When I pointed out the error, my nail technician insisted I was incorrect and that I had in fact specifically requested this revolting color. Because of time constraints, and for fear of being billed for the many discrete tasks involved in removing the polish and changing the color, I paid my very overpriced ticket and left-- but not before tipping $10. My nail technician was offended I did not tip more and told me so. If one views seeking out a manicure in a strange city as a sort of adventure, Miyano Nails is the Franklin Expedition: one in which the explorer is frozen in place while helplessly witnessing atrocities unfold. I advise you to search elsewhere for your Seattle...
Read moreThis review is more on the quality of the workers there on a deeper, personal level then their ability to do nails. I’m visiting Seattle for a work training as I just started a new job. I was told that I had to take the gel polish I had off for safety hazards/policy(medical field) and so I came here to get it off. Nothing fancy, just your typical Asian nail place. My gel was off in a jiffy, and that was that. I am at the front desk paying for my service and all the sudden my nose begins to bleed, heavy. So I run back to bathroom, leaving my wallet, phone and shopping bag at the counter. I’m humiliated. Customers and workers looked worried. I wondered what people were thinking about me. Couldn’t get my nose to stop bleeding, the bath room sink was covered in blood, I was going through napkins like crazy. 20 plus minutes have gone by and it’s only getting worse. I called my dad in tears because I didn’t know what to do. I hear a knock and a worker tells me she wants to help. So she sits me in a chair, tells me to lay my bead back, and puts a wet cold cloth covered over ice and rubs my forehead all over. Side to side, up to the top, down to the bridge of my nose. It was freezing and gave me a brain freeze but I went with it. What struck me was that this was as if I was her child or loved one, not a stranger, and not a customer. She cleaned up my mess, took my dirty tissues away from me. With in 2 minutes, the blood completely stopped and never came back. She came back with water, another wet cloth and had me sit there for 5 more minutes. I was so emotional over this, that a stranger could do this and be so kind. It wasn’t about her job anymore. I wasn’t a customer anymore. That was sheer human kindness. And it wasn’t just her. All of them were so nice and told me to feel better and I know that it may sound silly, but I had to share this. Wait time was quick. Prices were a tad pricey. But my review is on...
