NEVER going back here. I would never recommend this place to anyone. Went in to get my hair dyed grey, ended up with blue hair, a scabby scalp, a foul mood, and a stained shirt.
I had a consultation with one stylist, but when I went in I found out she didn't work until later that afternoon. (This could have been solved by being able to make appointments, which this place does not do.)
Anyway, I asked the two stylists who were there if they could do grey/silver, as I know this is a difficult color to get. They both promptly replied that yes, either of them could do that. So I waited for one of them to be available. I ended up with Cory. I showed him a picture of the haircut I wanted, and the color I wanted. He started with the haircut and I honestly don't even know if he looked at the picture at all. The haircut I got was nothing like what I asked for. At this point I should have left before he started the color. Unfortunately I did not. We went on the with the color, first bleaching my hair. He didn't quite get it to white, which you need to do if you want grey, it was still kind of yellow. He then started with the toning/color, we went and shampooed it out, then he brought me back to the mirror and said what do you think? as if we were done. My hair was still blonde, with a hint of silver. I said so, and he (in a rather snarky tone) asked "Well what did you mean by silver?" And I again showed him the picture I showed him at the beginning, which was NOTHING like the color of my hair. And he agreed that yes, my hair color did not look like what I asked for. So we went back to the coloring, and it was clear he had not done this before, he was asking the other stylist what do to, and even calling another stylist who wasn't working to ask for their advice. I asked at the beginning and they said they could do this color! Clearly that was not true, if someone asks you if you can do something and you've never done it before, SAY SO!!!! Also, after the first time I said that it wasn't the color I asked for, he became impatient and rather rough with my scalp that had been singed with bleach for way too long. Anyway, after MORE THAN 4 HOURS, several more coloring sessions, and about 12 shampoos later, my hair was almost close to the grey color I wanted, and I was just so ready to get out of there that I said it was fine, because I just wanted to leave.
I got home, and my hair was blue. Blue as the sky. I also noticed that during the process, bleach had been running down the back of my neck and had stained my shirt collar pretty badly (one of my favorite flannels). Then next day, my scalp was COVERED in scabs.
Normally when you are not satisfied with your hair, you contact the person who did it. However, in this case, I wanted nothing to do with Cory, I thought he was rude, impatient, rough with my scalp, and most importantly, did not know what he was doing. I attempted to contact the manager of the shop, however when I called, Cory answered, and was once again very rude on the phone. I then emailed the corporate email address, telling them about my experience. They replied, and asked me to come in to the shop to talk about fixing the problem. The thing is, I never wanted to go back there, I didn't trust any of them, and even if I did, my scalp was so damaged that I didn't want to put any more chemicals on it. I only wanted my money back. Unfortunately I did not get it.
Bad cut, bad color, HORRIBLE...
Read moreItâs about the long reservation booking for hair colour story; it took me around 2 months to make 2 times rejected reservation, with 4 different hair stylists, Ryan, Julian, Jude and the one is a nice stylist. How did it happen, Julian suggest me to email the time schedule problems with Bishops barber company, which I knew it wonât never reply or solve the problem, now Julian made me review the bishops on Yelp/Google, maybe is better for me. You know what, only to make a scene, which company will just start to look into the time schedule problem. Let me tell the story with the timeline, to begin with Ryan, He is a nice guy, I met him while my hand got injured in Feb this year, canât wash my hair by myself. Then 2nd time saw him was to cut my hair end, then I thought he can probably colour my hair, since I saw he has a friend of his was on his mirror got nice pinkish colour, we were discussing about what kind of colour I would like to do, then when I decide what kind of the colour I want, Ryanâs schedule online is fully booked everyday(the timeline was in June), how does Bishops time schedule work, they said âwalk inâ and Last time I was with Jude done my hair colour 2 years ago, I did walk in the day before and just asked I want to colour, any stylist can recommend me? I got answer right away, Jude is the one Iâm looking for. 2 year ago, she did great job that time which I love it a lot (4-5 hours, 1 time process to get blonde). Shame she left bishops for over 6 months. There is some side story about Jude after 2 years, Iâll tell you later on. After 2 year, bishops start doing online âcheck inâ systems, which doesnât mean you got your time reservation, just a âcheck inâ(what does that suppose mean??) Iâve been tried to book Ryanâs 9am on the dot, online checkin system got jam, crashed, when was available for me, Ryanâs time is fully booked. I know you are as popular as Nordstorm half year sales online, or Amazon prime day sales, online sales got crashed due to too many people booking online. However, me and Ryan spoke in person couple times, he talked about if I can be in person BEFORE 8:55am, I can put you in the system ahead of everyone, because it took about 4-5 hours to do the bleach, dye the color, which I totally understand, he went if you can make it that certain Wed morning BEFORE 8:55am, he can help with that. Unfortunately, Iâve got real sick on that Wed in the beginning of Aug we agreed. And the week after Wed, when Iâve got recovered, I showed up so early like 8:30am, of course, the only person was there is the receptionist, I planed to tell Ryan, I was in the shop so early wanted to do hair color as we planed before, ask the receptionist to pass my message on to Ryan, as I need to take my dog to daycare first, she just wentâ come back anytime, he will be here.â To...
Read moreAbsolutely awful experience! Was charged for the haircut even though I was denied service because I was late. The Barber was pompous and uninterested. I could not fathom how he could be both at the very same time. But the strangest thing was that I was made to wait for the same amount of time during my last two visits but was not given any refund. Why does the rule not apply both ways?
Anyway, ethics aside, I was terribly confused whether to be disappointed with the barber for being too unbothered to look up the phone and be rude to me or for being awfully bad at basic Math. Look, iâm not expecting my barber to be decent at basic arithmetic, he doesnât need to count my hair! But he said heâs expecting the next guest soon and need to prepare for him(For about 12-13 min). If he was planning to do my haircut for only 12 min anyway and use the rest of time to prepare for next customer, why did he not use the remaining 13 minutes for my haircut and use the remaining one minute to look into his phone a.k.a prepare for his next customer. I understand, man has his needs! Maybe heâs looking at something incredibly important on YouTube like âLearn to cut hair in 12 minutesâ, I really donât know, i can only speculate.
But what i really detest is someone charging me money, not providing service at all, someone trying to make an easy buck by not moving his bum at all and having the audacity to cold talk with me. I admit, I got caught up at work and was late, my mistake, but you sir are a whole lot worse! You know exactly...
