Solvang Knives Etc... — Local services in Solvang

One of the friendlier and approachable shops I entered while visiting the town during a weekday and I went into a LOT (Yes even though it's a store full of knives!). It's very small, with the resident "guard dog" standing by, pleasantly packed with the best of knives (Kershaw, Shun and many others, some of which I wasn't familiar with- yet) for kitchen, hunting/utility and for pockets. I left but quickly returned to purchase a lovely (but if in the wrong hands- clearly dangerous wink) Mcusta (Japanese folded steel) pocket knife. The young gal that helped me (I'm not into naming names) was very attentive, clearly has her base knowledge down- though she admitted to not knowing everything- WHICH is the sign of an honest salesperson, and even got a catalog of Shun out, and we learned something about a particular knife together. I would definitely recommend, thank you.

(Oh, and this store does have other rustic and useful things here and there, but I was too distracted by the myriad of knives!)

Please be mindful of the amount of customers you receive that come from other countries… whether it’s to visit or literally live here now because they “crossed the border.” I walked in to possibly the owner?, an older woman being a complete racist about how immigrants come into this country. Literally having this conversation with other people at her counter. I have been coming to Solvang for over 25 years- and I have never encountered such prejudice. I’ll leave a 3 because the other lady who is usually here is always exceptionally nice to my family and I. Also, everyone is entitled to their opinion but your business should not be the location of a conversation like this ESPECIALLY when solvang is a place that welcomes and embraces all cultures to come visit.

Ended up taking a small vacation with my S/O out in Solvang. He absolutely enjoys looking for a new knife when we come across a store that has a large inventory. We stopped by on a Saturday and ended up talking to one of the owners, unfortunately I didn't catch her name, who was knowledgeable and absolutely wonderful. She gladly let us know about the high quality inventory they stock and the new knives that had come in. If you're looking for Benchmade she has one of the largest inventories we have ever come across. If you're ever in the Solvang area please check out this store if you're a collector. We were able to have our knives sharpened and we also purchased a red kershaw knife with a black blade. We will definitely come back when we are in the Solvang area again.
