I was accused of trying to shoplift because I was picking at the plastic on an eye roller. Si was leaving, I said you just lost a great customer. The guy said we don't like shop lifters. I showed him I had cash. I was completely humiliated because he was extremely un professional. He is the reason for this review. I never got his name, but he was a short pudgy guy, probably mid to late 20s. Dark eyes and dark hair. If you want to shop at Kohls, I would suggest going to Berlin instead. At least the people there are professional. I just want to say shame on Kohls in the University Mall for not training your workers to be professional and courteous at all times, no matter what situation pops up. If I were the guys boss, he would have been written up for his lack of professionalism and immaturity. May go back some day, but most likely, it will be to his name, and if he is any sort of manager, I will be speaking with his district manager.
6/5/24 I appreciate that you are able to use my review to learn and be able to coach your employees. I was a district manager for several years at a store in San Francisco. The one thing I stressed to my managers was when coaching and training, the number one thing, no matter what! Remain professional under any and all circumstances. That can be very difficult at times, especially with younger people. You never under any circumstance make a customer feel anything but happy. You, being the owner of this particular store, should stress that to your managers to pass on to the employees. Even tho you will be speaking with your managers, I will just drive to another location or shop online. I was so embarrassed, and I never want to see that guy's face again. I don't appreciate being treated the way he treated me. I wish I would have got his name. He didn't even ask me what I was doing or I'd I planned on paying for the items. He assumed I was going to steal and snatched the items or off my hand and told me that they would be at the front waiting for me. That's when I left. If he is going to treat customers like common thieves even after they show him a wallet full of bills, he needs to find a new profession. If he doesn't like working there and is going to treat ppl like that, maybe he should go back to school and get an educating to do something that he enjoys. He reminds me of one of the ppl on a power trip because they were picked on in school. SMH. I hope you do something because you will be losing customers. That's losing business and nobody can afford to lose customers in...
Read moreKohl’s did nothing to keep the Woman’s dressing room safe from a Peeping Tom. Change there at your own risk.
I’m 5 months pregnant and on May 15, 2025 I went to Kohl’s to find some much needed maternity wear. There was a female worker in the women’s dressing room when I approached. I tried on the first shirt and I stepped outside to get opinions on it. As I walked back in toward my stall I was unbuttoning my shirt when I heard someone approaching behind me. I heard a man’s voice. Instinctively, I looked into the mirror as I passed and I saw his eyes on my chest and when he realized I was looking at him, he looked away. I realized he was accompanying his presumed girlfriend who also seemed awkward at him being there. He made some inappropriate comments about his presence in the room, nothing too bad but just enough that it made me feel uncomfortable. Anyway, the worker didn’t say or do anything. I felt so violated that I left the rest of my potential purchases in the room and I paid for what I already tried on. I tried to contact Kohl’s after the fact but there seems to be no direct way to get ahold of management.
Ladies: he was a short white man with a midsized frame. He was wearing a flannel shirt, gloves, a mask on his mouth and nose, and he had a jerry curl hair style. I don’t recommend that you change there but if you do and you see him,...
Read moreI purchased a sweater for my granddaughter, and unfortunately got the wrong size. I couldn't find the receipt so I called my local store in South Burlington, VT where the customer service personnel said they could swap for the correct size, or store credit. I brought it to the store with tags on the item showing the price: $44.00. The size I needed was unavailable, so I thought it would be store credit, and she could pick something out later. Wrong! They would only give me store credit for $12.00, really, $12.00 when I paid $44.00. Talk about trying to rip off this consumer to the tune of $30.00. NOT going to happen. I rarely shop there, and I certainly won't again. I'll stick with other local retailers and on-line shopping. Even Walmart gives complete store credit up to $50.00 if you miss place the receipt and the...
