Lands' End — Local services in Town of Hempstead

I had visited this location shortly after they opened back in end of November 2019. I was trying to see if I can exchange an online purchase in store so I don't have to go through the hassle of shipping the item back and waiting for it to ship out again.

Unfortunately they didn't have the size and color I wanted in stock given I guess its a smaller store so its not very well stocked. Seems they handle online and in-store purchases very differently too where all they could do is to return the item for me but then I wouldn't be able to order a smaller size with the original discount.

After speaking with the staff I ended up calling Lands' End main customer support and the experience was much better, she was able to order a new size for me at the same price right away and I could take my time to ship the original item back. I guess when their online system support is this efficient I'm not sure how helpful the physical store would be if they tend to keep things separate.

The Westbury B&N is a great book store. It’s large and very clean. The staff are wonderful. Helpful and knowledgeable. I really like the small tables dedicated to various topics, for example book club reads.

My one criticism is that since the recent renovation, they have eliminated the historical fiction section. Now all those books are in fiction. Previously, there was a nice size historical fiction section where shoppers could browse and find a variety of books in this genre.

Horrible customer service!!! Supervisor wouldn’t even pick up the phone she rudely put me on speaker. I bought something on Wednesday late night and Friday there was a sale. I hadn’t even received my shipment yet and there was a 50% off sale. I asked to have a price adjustment and was told too bad it’s a weekend sale. Nothing else was offered to accommodate a $50 overcharge. What ever happened to this company with their customer last policy. Never dealing with this company again.
