Sportsman's Warehouse — Local services in Town of Rib Mountain

Avoid the Wausau, WI Sportsman's Warehouse store if you're disabled or if English is not your 1st language. Ordered gun online to be shipped to store. After 2 weeks, no call from the store. I called and was told Fedex delivered it 3 days prior. Went in for pickup, took 10-15 minutes for 2 employees to eventually find the Gun. After verifying identity, began the electronic ATF application. The gun purchaser, who has vision problems and difficulty reading English was told he would have to complete the app on his own, or he would need to bring in his own translator and his own 2 witnesses. Store manager on duty states this is their store policy. The ATF clearly states another person can complete the app, should a buyer have difficulty reading English. We were humiliated in front of 4 other employees and customers. Next day I call the store manager, John Schafer to express my frustrations. His response, they are new employees and aren't trained or experienced with these types of situations. Never apologized but made excuses for his employees. He continues to reference its the store policy and they did nothing wrong. I asked for a copy of the store policy with regards to gun purchases, he refuses, stating he doesn't have to and ends up hanging up on me. Phone calls to corporate has not been returned. Sportsman's Warehouse isn't for the law abiding gun owner, making it more difficult than what the ATF rules state. Avoid this place and store manager if you want to be treated fairly and want to legally purchase a firearm.

Edit: It's been 2 weeks now. Corporate customer service is a joke. Called and emailed as instructed in their cookie cutter response....still no response from corporate. Unless you're fluent in English and are not disabled, take your hard earned...

Clean and well organized. Seems slightly overpriced UPDATE: They are extremely over priced compared to Walmart, Fleet Farm or any store for that matter. As far as them replying that they price match competitors, just have the best price and be done with it. Don't make the consumer work for it. I got minnows tonight. That was a nightmare. The guy asked if I wanted the minnows in my minnow bucket. Where else would I put them??? Then I had to tell him that he needed to add water to the minnow bucket before putting them. He started to add water and then asked what temperature I wanted it at. Who asks that? It should be cold, always cold. Its common sense. When I told him what minnows I wanted he proceeded to hand write each amount, minnow type and price per minnow. I got 3 different types and 4 dozen. Painfully slow as he counted each minnow one for one and refused to touch them to keep them from flopping out of the net. God forbid I got 1 extra one. Who does that? No bait store does this. When I got home, 6 minnows were already dead. This store won't last long with there absurd prices and unqualified workers. Can't wait for the out of business sale so I can get normal...

Take your business to CHAISE OUTDOORS!!!! where they appreciate your business!! I ordered a bow for my son received email that it was available for pickup..im a hr away.. supposed to be free set up with purchase no where it's stated that you should make sure there able to set it up at any given day.. was told no one was capable to set it up there today and I'd have to bring it back to which I as to speak to a manager so we could problem solve the issue SJ the floor manager came out with an attitude from the start said I either can take it to chase outdoor to set up or come back another time! I ask if they were going to cover cost of set up she said no then got even more snotty and said "well God forbid I only have one person who can do it and there off today and people don't want to work or apply here! ... then asked to speak to store manager to no avail the absolute worst customer service ever! A total disregard for my business and money... went to chase spent $27 dollars is all and I can say I've never been to a place we're all the employees were so nice and just amazing CHASE will have all my business from here out F@*€...
