This store tends to scam the uneducated consumer about their anime or Japanese goods. They sell a lot of unofficial bootleg merchandise which is unfortunately not labeled as so. I’m mainly speaking about the merchandise such as Genshin Impact keychains, anime stickers and car decals, and cloth scrolls with low quality prints. I have seen unlicensed Dakimakura’s with low quality art also on their pillows. This is not limited to these items, however it’s most obviously the case. These items can be found on Chinese websites such as TaoBao or AliExpress, where they purchase certain items in bulk at the price of less than a dollar. They then flip that in their store by giving it a $15+ price tag. It’s unfortunate price gouging. Some plushies are also unofficial without the label, such as Sanrio plushies that they sell alongside official merchandise for the same price. I have seen unlicensed Sanrio merchandise such as cheaply made furry backpacks or resin hair clips that couldn’t have cost them more than a couple dollars, for them to sell it at their store of a price tag of more than $60.
Of the actual official licensed products in the store, there are Japanese model kits, prize figures, and scale figures. There are also some Sanrio merchandise from other countries, along with Japan’s famous gashapon capsules. However the prices on these items are also just as atrocious. The Pop Up Parade line of figures that they sell at all of their locations is always consistently priced at $60+, when at retail online you can purchase these items around $30-35 with free shipping. When responding to someone else’s review about how the prices are quite extreme compared to their online counterparts, they said admittedly that it’s dangerous to order online as it’s quite possible to receive a bootleg. And yet, when I enter their store, I do see bootleg anime merchandise all around me.
I recommend to not shop at this store. They seem to reply to the criticism of items being quite expensive due to profit margins and that they’re always priced affordably, but more often than not the markup is above 100% and cannot be labeled as more than simply price gouging the...
Read moreWish I could give negative stars. Worst customer experience in my life!!!! I wish I could post the video on here about my experience and being told they “don’t care.” I will definitely be posting it on YouTube. Please read the other bad reviews as they are on point about everything! definitely not worth the price for their items or service. I’m surprised they even have 3 stars. Found out the girl I spoke with (or tried to) is the manager for all the stores here so if you have a bad experience there you’ll just have the same at their other stores near by. Even my husband tried speaking to them as he couldn’t believe how I was treated and he got the same response but worse. The manager is condensing and uncaring and the one employee wanted to get into a physical fight with him so my husband started to record. There is another person on here who also stated they are aggressive and oh boy are they. The manager was calm the second time I came in (to try and tell my husband it’s a lost cause as they could care less) and she seen me recording but once she thought I had stopped recording she went back to her condescending ways of not even letting me speak. I can’t wait to post the video as we tried to use the example of a lost child and their employee stating if a child was lost in their store “they wouldn’t care” as it’s “not their business” and they “don’t want to be responsible .” Such inhuman way of being especially since they have a lot of children’s toys in their store. My husband thought they are racist against Hispanic (as I’m Hispanic) and after my experience and other reviews on here I think he might be right. I will be buying online at another business. I will be posting another review about the security as the manager there tried to say they “don’t trust the security” and how they are “no good” even though thanks to security we got our...
Read moreYesterday I visited this store as I always do just to browse. When I entered with my friends we went straight to looking at pokémon merchandise, as I was looking through the items I spotted a pikachu tail that could be used as a large keychain or even just a tail to connect to your belt loop, realizing what this keychain was used for I attempted to clip the tail onto my friends belt loop and they were totally aware of this. In the middle of me doing this an employee yelled at me from a few feet away and said “Please don’t do that” in a very rude tone, I replied “I’m just clipping it onto his belt” the employee then repeated himself again in an even ruder tone. After this experience I felt extremely unwelcome, like all eyes were on me. I myself have social anxiety and being yelled at in front of many customers and my friends was very embarrassing and had me tearing up. I would’ve appreciated it if the employee could’ve spoke to me in a nicer tone as it caught me off guard. I understand why what I was doing was not allowed after walking out of the store soon after the situation. I had no intentions on stealing the keychain and I recognize that the employee should not assume that I won’t steal, but again, it would’ve been so much nicer for him to speak to me in a nicer tone and maybe also give me an explanation as to why it wasn’t allowed. This experience ruined the rest of my day at the mall as I felt anxious and was overthinking the whole thing. Definitely will not be going back to this...
