This place has no business operating the way it does—and I intend to make sure that word gets out.
As someone who regularly purchases activewear from trusted brands like Lululemon and Athleta, I thought I’d give ALO a try. Given their premium pricing, I expected comparable quality and service. I was wrong on both counts.
After buying several items, I looked up reviews—only to discover an avalanche of consumer warnings. It turns out ALO is a private label brand. They don’t design or manufacture their own products. Instead, they source from various Chinese factories, relabel the items as “ALO,” and then charge outrageous prices as if they were delivering something original. The deception is well-documented in videos and articles, and the quality of the products I received certainly did not reflect the premium price tags.
Naturally, I decided to return everything. At the time of purchase, one of the shirts I selected had the wrong tag on it. The store associate acknowledged the mistake and removed the tag entirely at checkout. I didn’t think anything of it until I returned to the store and was told that the tank top couldn’t be accepted because—get this—it had no tag. I explained, calmly and clearly, that the tag had been removed at the register by their own staff in front of me.
What followed was one of the most frustrating and condescending customer service interactions I’ve ever experienced. I asked to speak to a manager, and a man came over who somehow managed to make the situation worse. He was dismissive, robotic, and completely uninterested in resolving the issue. Instead of listening, he repeated policy lines as if I were an inconvenience rather than a paying customer with a legitimate concern. When I told him his own associate removed the tag, he responded with a smug tone, implying I was either lying or confused—as if I had nothing better to do than fabricate a story over a tank top.
The arrogance and lack of accountability were astonishing. Between the deceptive branding, the overpriced outsourced products, and the complete failure in customer service, it’s crystal clear this company has no integrity.
I won’t be returning—and I will do everything in my power to ensure others are aware of what ALO really is: a rebranded reseller with no respect for...
Read moreTerrible customer service. If I could give it 1 star I would. They had a leak the day I came had my package ready and wouldn’t even give it to me when I had drove almost an hour to get there. One of the workers told me they would give me a refund so I could order it again but never did. They continuously emailed me everyday to pick up my order but how was I supposed to when the store wasn’t open or making accommodations. The amount I spent was eligible for free shipping as well so I don’t understand why it was so hard. After, I showed up the day they closed without a notice, I had to call every day since to get the same message of how they’re still not open but couldn’t mail my package to me. I would never spend my money on this store or at least this location again. They are terrible and it took me over a week to get my package but they had no trouble taking my money. Next time do better. It shouldn’t take a week or more to get my package after I...
Read moreIf I could only put NO star, I would. Worse customer service ever! We spent hundreds of dollars at this store and did not feel any appreciation whatsoever. Just because you 'work' at Alo, you can act rudely to ''customers". As expensive as your merchandise are, at least have the courtesy to be appreciative to the customers that comes in and actually bought something so you can have a job. The minute we walked in, we did not hear any greetings nor anyone asked if we need help looking for something. NOTHING! The worse part, we were rudely checked out by the cashier, Isabelle at Alo, Tysons Galleria, Virginia. No smile and she looked irritated while checking us out. And, NO, we did not hear her say 'thank you' at the end of transaction. At this point, we are discouraged, disappointed, and traumatized by Alo. We'll stick with Lululemon...
