Uncomfortable and confused. I came in for a consult on my virgin hair after a blow dry. I had no product in it (so it was dry) and was told by my stylist that it was super damaged. I’m definitely white passing…but I can’t help but think I should have disclosed that i’m black and white…my hair texture is different. It’s thin (white side) but naturally curly and dry (black side). I’ve been told all of my life that my hair is damaged (even as a child) by non black stylists but never by black stylists. I’ve definitely learned my lesson to always disclose my background bc my texture is different…but stylists…please consider this as a possibility even when a client comes in...

Got my hair cut with Emanuele and wow was it great! Totally worth the cost. He is so passionate and artistic about his craft and took the time to explain and educate me how he operates and how my hair can be cut to align with its natural essence. And his cut lasted me longer than usual and held up great. loved that! Too bad there isn’t another one of him in LA so I could go to him regularly.
