Im actually so baffled after my dinner at this restaurant… I was honestly surprised to see so many positive reviews after my experience…
It looks vibey from the outside and I was expecting to have a pleasant experience with my friends on the iconic sunset blvd, but OMG what was up with the service?? Legitimately, who tf is running this place because someone needs to check their brain cell count! First off, everything took so unbelievably long even though the restaurant was far from fully booked. I got the rock shrimp and the crunchy rolls and I was so excited and soooo hungry… The wait for the first wave of food (small dishes and starters) was absurdly long, but the rock shrimp finally arrived and was honestly pretty tasty… All my friends slowly got their meals, and I was still waiting for my rolls. Even when my friends did get their foods, there was STILL complications. The waiter didn’t even know which dish was what and seemed so disoriented; I was honestly concerned. After another significant amount of time had passed, our initial waitress who took our orders came to deliver (what I thought were my rolls), however, we had to send it back since none of us had ordered the dish she brought over. We deduced that she had put in the wrong order, which is fine, but the wait for the rolls I actually ordered from the start was so long that all my friends finished their meals and it STILL hadn’t come out. I just had to ask for it “to go” which was frustrating since the whole plan was to enjoy a nice dinner out with my friends. If I wanted carry out sushi, I would’ve gotten it!!
At this point I was thinking, what’s going on? They were taking forever to do each little step, even just bringing the check, and we all needed to return our rental car by a specific time that we did not make because everything was so all over the place at this restaurant. We all had to pay a hefty late fee for our car on top of an already hefty dinner price. We didn’t get any sort of reimbursement at the restaurant despite it being entirely their fault they messed up the order. I get it, everyone makes mistakes and that was fine until I overheard our waitress delivering a giant sushi plater to this other party of 4 next to us saying it was ON THE HOUSE. I couldn’t believe it. Like hello???
Anyways, I’m actually scared to go back since it felt like I was having a stroke in there. I would never recommend this place to anyone I like or care about....
Read moreHad an extremely disappointing experience here, really substandard food, really inexperienced server. Well below what you expect for the price. My wife and I ordered a drink each plus a Spicy Rock Shrimp Roll, which was relatively small and only 5 pieces despite being $16.50, and it was absolutely smothered in spicy mayo. It looked as if mayo was accidentally spilled on the roll but they sent it out anyways. We also ordered a Salmon Skin Roll that was poorly rolled and tasted very fishy compared to similar rolls we've had at other establishments. The server was inattentive and didn't check in to see how things were going. The food was poor so we decided not to order anything else and just get the bill. When we got the bill, they had charged us for an extra drink we didn't order and the server had trouble fixing the bill, coming back and forth several times before it was resolved. Maybe we caught them on a bad day, but I would...
Read moreMaybe it's because I'm from Vegas and I'm used to a flare and presentation.
The atmosphere and decor of the place was very zen and comfortable. However, that was not the reason I came.
I came for sushi. Number one, they are WAY too overpriced! It's not that 10 to 17 bucks is a problem for a signature sushi roll... it becomes a problem when what you're paying for is half of what you expect.
The waitress brought out 5 piece's of sushi with no sort of garnishment, pizzazz, or presentation. It was seriously 1, 2, 3, 4, FIVE pieces if sushi on a small plate. No drizzle of sauce. No nothing. I asked if it was considered a full or half roll... and sure enough... it was a full roll! Lol Soooo pitiful. :-(
Like I said, maybe it's my Vegas expectations, but I thought a full roll was considered 10 to 12 pieces. My significant other had Pad Thai... it was normal. So, I guess that's ok.
Nice hip place, but a terrible...
