Very disappointing!
Myself, my wife and friend attended the Lennons Restaurant & Bar for lunch today 2/1/17. On arrival and quotation of my name, the staff at the front counter appeared bewildered, until another came & sent us to our table. She then arrived with Menus - we asked for Sparkling Mineral Water as we perused the Wine List. on her return with water she asked for our food orders! we suggested we did not want to be rushed. She returned in 5 minutes again to ask for orders - when we said a few more minutes she left and never returned, working the other side of the room.
We all ordered the Barramundi with sides of Cabbage Salad & Sweet Potato Fries (not available, so we took normal fries) - The meals arrived and we were all appalled at the size of the portions. Two small fingers of fish (would not be 100gms in total), both side salads and the chips were extremely salty.
We sought the Menu again for desserts, but nothing tickled our fancy, so we asked for the account.
3 Barramundi 1 Fries 1 Cabbage Salad 1 Btl Sparkling Mineral Water 2 Gls Proseco 1 Btl Proseco 1 Gls Mt Tambourine Lager 3 Gls Torbreck Shiraz (I only had 1, confirmed by my companions)
$246.50??? The Restaurant Team Leader felt my disatisfaction and reduced the account to $153 but only after telling me that I had 3 glasses of wine, and that there was 180gms of Barramundi on each dish. Not so!!
Totally dissatisfied with the experience and will...
Read moreOk im going to call it as I see it. Im currently still here, on my own. This place need a little work... i siad a little.
Firstly i am from Melbourne with a very high level of restaurant quality so please excuse me if this is a Brisbane thing and please, I do not wont to sound pretentious either, but I will go into detail.
Music/atmosphere..... something... there are speakers in the ceiling but all you can here is the dead silence between the closest table conversation.
Its a Thursday night at 8pm so one would assume a busy ish time, so please dont assume im here on a Tuesday morning.
On waiters rounds they regularly miss customers empty glasses. My wine twice, the table next to me twice. They need to be trained better. Please note they are very curious, nice and professional but lack the 4-5 star restaurant touch.
Quite strangely I will not rate the food as i have only had one meal and one my own. So not fair to make a judgment. I will however tell uou about my meal.
I hve the chicken schnitzel. It was 6/10. I betting the chick was not made here. The meal as a whole was dry. Tase was all good though. It was lucky I orders a leady slad or I would have been coughing feathers.
The matradee???? Asked me how my meal was, i told him and made my suggestions... I got a hollow smile and an “ok”..
Fitout, lighting all looks like a great restaurant and to be honest it is close just needs essentials touches...
Read moreThis place has the look of a fancy restaurant but at the moment, I feel like it's an illusion. Context...I was celebrating a milestone birthday on this occasion. I am not sure what's going on, but there are issues. Service is hit and miss. One of our waiters was great. He was very attentive and on the ball. Another one must have been having a bad night because a slight attitude adjustment would've made our night a little more pleasant. She came to our table twice with orders from other guests and when we said it wasn't ours, she became annoyed. But why do we cop the brunt of her frustrations? We ordered the duck (2), the lamb loin and rib eye steak ( ordered to come out as medium rare). Everything came out over cooked. The steak was especially disappointing considering it was $40. And duck when it's over cooked is not very nice. The size of the breast was disappointing and again considering the price, maybe this dish needs to be removed? Dessert was creme brullee. The toffee had the perfect crack, however the creme might have needed a little more setting time. One thing that I noticed that didn't seem to make sense is all of the staff wearing...whatever. For a place that has tablecloths and cloth napkins and beautifully set tables, why not have a classic uniform of black pants and white shirts under...
