Went to flippers for lunch today. Customer service was awful to begin with and when I advised them they missed 1 order of chips I was rudely spoken to and was told it was all there, she didn't want to help and fix or review my receipt, eventually was told i had to wait 5 mins for them to sort it. While I was waiting my husband opened his order of scallops and chips for $14.50 and only recieved 1 battered scallop!! Made a complaint about quality of customer service and their poor effort to supply correct orders. I honestly felt extremely sorry for 2 elderly ladies who were from the cruise ship that was in as they were unsure where there order number was on the receipt (me and my husband also didn't understand where our number was either) and were so rudely spoken to and were made out to be stupid. It was totally embarrassing that our local business could be this way ecspecially with our tourism growing we want people to come back!!! Our family will not be returning to support...

After receiving a white fish after ordering salmon, the manager claimed that it must have been a mistake on our end and that we must be quote "blind, deaf, or dumb?", for not noticing the mistake on the ticket whilst waiting. He claimed that they fulfilled 150 orders that day without mistake and therefore were infallible of making this mistake. The only fish my sister eats is salmon and that is definitely what she ordered - however we received blue grenadier. Instead of admitting the mistake and helping to remedy the situation, the manager preceded to insult us and not do anything.

30 minutes later when sitting outside of Mures, a couple recognized us and said "it's a shame about the salmon" and that "it was terrible customer service". I can't help but agree with this, I've never felt the need to write a review before in my entire life but...

Bought the family feast: The two pieces of fish were terrible and both my wife and I could not eat it after just one bite. $40 later we were still hungry. The chips were ok and the calamari was actually nice. I returned the fish and told the service person that "your fish was awful and you simply can't eat this". To my surprise he said "I know, we had a number of similar complaints". I asked why do you keep serving it then? No response! He knows that only a handful of people will complain-most will just throw it out. As a tourist area it's a bad look for the whole industry and its just appalling that they can't even serve a simple piece of fish that you can actually eat! So to the owner of this establishment I hope you can seriously lift you game in this regard. I however, will not purchase from your...

My stroll led me directly to the vibrant food area around Constitution Dock, where a variety of food boats offered everything from classic fish and chips to fried chicken, burgers, and even gelato. With so many delicious options, I decided on a late lunch at Flippers. The friendly blokes working there recommended the Trevalla with Chips, and it was an absolute winner! They even offered a choice of seasoned salt, chicken salt, or salt and vinegar for extra flavour, a nice touch. It's a must-try while you're in Tasmania, as Trevalla or Flathead are the local stars, unlike the more common Barramundi, Flake, or Grenadier often served in Sydney and Melbourne. I enjoyed my meal right by the docks, where there's plenty of seating, and, of course, the ever-present seagulls hoping for a crumb!

A very popular place and one to arrive at early as the wait can be quite lengthy. Good fish and chips, but not amazing. The prawn cutlets were too battered, and ended up needing to be rescued from the casing to even taste the meat. The chips… as with most chips we’ve had here were not great. The potato cake was very potato-y (not a bad thing), but also heavily battered. Look, I realise coming here is not looking for ‘healthy options’, but Flippers does have stiff competition down the dock and might do well to consider the calibre of other competitors and lift slightly in the quality of the food. Reasonably priced, could package/present the food slightly better as well.

Ordered fishermans basket and box of treats and was plenty between 2. The service was friendly and fast as there were a couple of familes ordering before us. The food was fresh and good quality and price reflected it. Ensure you eat it fresh and 5 min parking bay avaliable infront. Self serve chicken salt was an excellent addition. Take away only but accepted card and cash. If you want an Aussie Fish n Chips experience with seagulls trying to eat your food, eating by the water while the world goes by and fish and chips with plenty of tartare sauce eat at Flippers!
