2 weeks ago, my partner and i came to visit the bended elbow albury for date night. We ordered 2 entrees, 2 main meals, and a jug of drink.
Firstly, we ordered and seated at our table. The table wobbled, which usually wouldnt be an issue but the jug of coke we got had a tiny base and was incredibly hard to balance on the table, we ended up using the table behind us to sit it on as it would spill.
Our entrees come out, cob loaf and spring rolls. Absolutely beautiful, cant fault them. But not long after, like not enough time to even eat our entrees our main meals came out. My partner ordered a medium steak, i ordered a chicken stir fry. We begun eating them, my partners steak was raw, red raw. And the chicken in my stirfry was extremely dry to the point it was incredibly chewy. We didnt send it back because we were so discusted we lost our appetite, we did eat our entrees and just left in discust. Incredibly discusted.
Now im not one to complain, but this time i decided to, i sent a message via their website that night explaining what had happened. Ive left it for 2 weeks and i had not even got a response or anything. Very upset, very disappointed. Definitely will not be returning nor recommending to any of...
Read moreGroup of 7 on Tuesday "steak night". The first thing we told them is that one diner has a severe allergy to strawberries. This was emphasised when ordering at the bar and when ordering dinner. Diner #1 ordered pork belly - deep fried crackling, fat not rendered, otherwise OK. #2 ordered Angus burger - he seemed pleased #3 & #4 had bangers and mash - they were happy. "Garlic Cob Loaf" is big, but also $12. Very good though. #5, #6 & #7 all had overcooked porterhouse - on steak night. The two "rare" steaks were well done - no pink visible, no juices from the meat. It must have been nice meat before cooking because it still had flavor and wasn't tough as a boot. But the lady who ordered a "medium" steak nearly sent it back as burnt. It was overdone by almost any standard. If we weren't starving and cold, all three steaks would have gone back. Then we ordered dessert - and they garnished churros with a strawberry. Guess who they were for! Prices are average, service was reasonably fast and attentive. Good drinks list (Not outstanding, but alright). But they messed-up in the kitchen too many times. I'm confident they can do better, but very unlikely to give them...
Read moreA beautiful venue with excellent food. Our wait was a little long but to be expected over the Christmas period. Friendly and competant staff. Will visit again on our way back to Melbourne.
Oh dear, I have just read the previous reviews. I am a visitor to Albury and was having lunch at The Bended Elbow with my family when I witnessed the abuse a family gave a poor waitress. Granted the hotel was very busy but we all had to wait. I heard everything that was said. Heavens knows we all did. The family were abusive and intimidating and still are by singling her out. Shame on them. Their behaviour was disgraceful. That is not how you resolve a problem and so much for Christmas spirit. They seem to have added a few details to help their story. By no means did the poor waitress become violent. I saw a lot of aggression and finger pointing from the family below. She was just trying to do her job. I give them 5 stars for putting up with their nonsense. Compliments to the staff for dealing with that situation in a professional manner.
Our food was very good and would certainly recommend anyone to give it a...
