Nasty staff. Stealing from customers. Absolute rip off. Horrific service both times I went here, the bar staff were too rude and unwelcoming to be in hospitality, that's right - HOSPITALITY. An industry developed from the act of hosting people in a hospitable manner. Just as the Australia has hosted you and welcomed you into the country. I find it appalling that you'd come here and then set up a business only to make your customers feel unwelcome and take their hard earned money and deliver the cheapest beverage you can get away with calling a spiced rum and coke. She charged us $14 for a Captain's and Coke which should have 30ml of spirits in it. We were told she'd bring our drinks out, this was so she could put #"*K-all rum in it without us seeing. I was given a small glass of PEPSI for $14. She may have dabbed a drop of their watered down rum on the rim of the glass so I couldn't complain but she completely robbed us. This was after we ordered two B52 shots for $28 which had some revolting foreign acidic vinegar/wine instead of COINTREAU (a beautiful fragrant orange liqueur from France.) And called it "our own twist on a B52" AFTER we'd payed for and swallowed them, both twisting our faces in disgust as she smirked at her deceptive trickery. What a horrible thing to do. We are the last people to deserve being treated this way, we are good hearted and kind people who are doing it really bloody tough. I think this business needs to rethink why it even exists because these people certainly do not enjoy being in hospitality and as a result are robbing people, racist and deceptive. Worst experience at a...
Read moreIt was my first visit to CK Retro tonight, and unfortunately also my very last!
After noticing 'Karaoke Station' posters in the pub's window a few days ago, I visited the place tonight with much enthusiasm. I even told the staffs behind the bar about my maiden visit, and bought myself a lovely cold beer as soon as I arrived.
The self-service karaoke system (consisting of only 1 touch screen monitor for song selection, 1 speaker, and 1 TV screen) is set up in a small corner next to the front door.
As it was my first visit, I started out by playing and listening to a couple of familiar songs to find out how good the sound system could be.
After enjoying the music (at 3/10 volume) for only a short while, my pleasure was abruptly ended by a male staff (presumably the manager or boss) who told me I cannot use the karaoke if I am not singing.
This was my first visit. The music I played wasn't loud. No other customer was waiting to use the karaoke. I was just warming up...and the manager shut me down just like that! Pathetic!
Congratulations sir, you just lost a...
