Pride Of Redfern — Restaurant in Sydney

Not just once - I have been there thrice and all three times I had a very bad experience and the coffee each time was horrible. I work at university of sydney hence I walk by this cafe everyday and was tempted to give them a try more than once. Well, today was worse- I ordered a hot chocolate and they took 15 minutes because the guy was busy talking to someone even tough I gave him a nudge 1-2 times. And when it finally arrived- it was horrible- like someone mixed a bournvita in room temperature coconut milk - disgusting! I kept the coffee back on the counter and said this is not normal and got smirks and dirty looks from the coffee guy! Extremely annoying. They dint seem to care less and completely ignored me. I walked out to never return again! Shame on you guys - zero customer service and bad behaviour! You are not ‘pride’ of Redfern you are ‘shame’...

Yet another establishment that doesn't pay even the minimum wage!!!!!! Apparently they only pay $16 p/h including on weekends. Maybe I should go undercover for fair work. I seem to run into every dodgy business when it comes to this. Absolutely disgusting how people think they can pay so little in Australia. Guess that's why you only see young ones in cafes. They don't know what their minimum wage is. And in relation to hygiene, their containers for the butter, jam, vegemite and peanut butter were so disgusting that I washed them. It was making me sick to think that customers were being served from them with god knows how many refills without being washed. It was almost impossible to get the old condiments off even in boiling water. And I have worked doing food in a cafe 10 times busier than this and always used a fresh clean...

I was doing my work placement there for my hospitality course they committed multiple healthcare violations. I’m gonna list off the two major ones that I saw while working there on multiple occasions. Food had fallen onto the floor and the chef and other staff proceeded to pick it up and put it in the food of customers and I was told to get a chair that customer sit on so I would have leverage to stand up onto a counter with food is prepared so I could clean the wall with dish scrubbers the same ones that are used to clean dishes so I could clean the wall that had a gross yellowy brown stains...
