I have never written any bad reviews in recent times but this restaurant really gets on my nerves, violates my patience, exhausts my stamina and dampens my mood throughout the whole vacation!
We came in the restaurant without any greeting. After waiting for few minutes, we finally got the table. It supposedly turned out that we would have a great dinner after a tired traveling day, but NO, after 2 plates of pasta, it took us nearly 50 minutes to wait disagreeably for only one Pizza. No explanation, apology for long waiting had been heard actively from the waiters or waitresses. We noticed that lots of customers who arrived after us got their served pizza’s. And finally, our pizza landed at the table without being divided. To add more, no salt, pepper, olive oil were served at the table. We always had to ask for their services continuously, somehow we thought that we were at their mercy for food and drinks.
The food was moderately okay. However, things got worse when we noticed that we were all the times glanced by the guys who worked at the kitchen, the waiter, 2 lady waitresses and even the manager. How on earth can you come in a restaurant in the heart of Salzburg and get glanced by all the staffs who were currently showing their friendliness towards customers? Is it only because we are Asian or put under their superiority?
Later, I asked for a small Fanta from a waitress (in the picture), she said yes and I waited for 20 mins, no drink had been served. Immediately I asked again from another lady at the bar. She replied to me by a rude voice and left without looking back. Guess what? I did not get my Fanta as a consequence. Then I saw she moved to serve the beer for another group of guests. I wonder if they were really working in the gastronomical industry. No customer service, no gratitude, no respect for customers and even the ability to listen had been lacked from those two ladies. And I finally think that they just consciously wanted to ignore us.
Last but not least, when we decided to pay the bill, we waved and waited patiently because we saw that they had to greet lots of new customers. But in return, they ignored us and especially the manager, after being called, he moved to other tables to collect dishes, order drinks, etc without paying attention to our table although we just called him 2 mins ago and he did reply: “Please wait”. How long did we need to wait? 10 mins, 30 mins or 1 hour for the bill? And the final thing that freaked me out was that they DID NOT ACCEPT CARD. They did not mention in advance when we first came in, no announcement was placed outside the restaurant and I did notice some customers before could pay with cards (I am not sure about this so I am not gonna blame about this). The guy did apologise for it but in a very contemptuous voice.
I left the restaurant with anger but felt relieved afterwards. Never come to this restaurant again. It ruined all my mood and left a flaw in my rapport towards the friendliness and beauty...
Read moreTerrible service! Poor quality food and did not receive what I ordered. I was left speechless and shocked at the attitude of the staff working there and how they treat their customers. I was there with 3 friends and we ordered our meals… the “main course” salads arrived with the minimal Ingredients inside and not as described on the menu. Firstly a chicken ceaser salad arrived in the smallest portion imaginable even though I ordered it as a main. It had 4 dry strips of chicken on it and it was also missing croutons which is 1 of the only 3 ingredients in the salad. The waiter placed it on the table, casually said “sorry we have no bread” and immediately walked away as if it was ok to charge €14 for a salad (if you could name it that) consisting of a pile of leaves and 4 strips of dry chicken. He was rude and it’s not ok to cheat paying customers like that and not even offer an alternative or allow a chance for us to ask for an alternative! Firstly if you don’t have the ingredients needed to make a dish on the menu, the customer should be informed before they order not after, so they have the option to chance their choice. Not to mention we waited 20 minutes for the other friends to receive their pizza so we could all eat together. I then kindly informed the girl working there that there were key ingredients missing like croutons (baring in mind a ceaser salad is composed of literally leaves, chicken and croutons), and she said “yes well we have no bread, and croutons are made of bread”. Her comment was shockingly rude and patronising and she also just walked away and handed the issue over to someone else. Then the original Greek waiter came back and didn’t even come to the table to apologise and allow the customers to speak, he just walked past waved his hand and said “don’t worry we will bring you something”. This unfortunately made me have to get up from my table and follow him to understand what exactly is going on in this place… I went to the bar, only to find him joking with his Greek colleague about our complaints, clearly not knowing that I am half Greek and could understand everything… I proceeded to talk to him in Greek and explain my frustration calmly. He then went on to tell me how he’s had a long shift and that I am in a cheap, chain restaurant and shouldn’t have such high expectations… I was honestly shocked. Firstly it’s not my problem how long your shift is - that is a topic you should discuss with your manager. Secondly I am not expecting a luxury service, I am expecting a basic service which is 1. Politeness 2. Receive what I order on the menu 3. Be informed of missing ingredients before I order to show a sense of respect and not be cheated 4. A discount off the bill at the end for all the hassle and incompetent service. I received non of the above and still paid full price at the end. L’Osteria please sort out your staff and your service - this is appalling and no generic apology can...
Read moreVisited because of good reviews from Google however this restaurant is almost a disaster! Food wise it’s one of the worst Italian restaurant in the world .
Before I leave my bad comments about the restaurant’s service staff and food, I’m gonna shoutout to the attentive and friendly barman while we are sitting at the bar for drinks and waiting for a table. Our good experience stopped right after we left the bar area.
We were at the table for 5 minutes and was ready to order but no one was attending to us, a moment later 2 guys arrive beside us and the service staff took our order together with theirs. Abt 10 mins later the 2 guys that arrive later than but their food is here. And our food have not come even waited for at least 20mins since order and the service staff is always not on the floor, when we asked about our food, he just said it’s gonna take Long?! We ordered a tomato soup, a spaghetti bolognese, and a half pizza margherita and half pizza fungi.
Our tomato soup came 25mins after order, and it’s shockingly a can of tomato with water added (if that’s even called a tomato soup), spaghetti bolognese was okay, and my pizza is a disaster, there’s clearly mozzarella in the menu, I don’t see or taste any mozzarella in my pizza margherita, the mushroom pizza is just okay. Service was really bad and food is nothing worth the amount of waiting time! What makes me furious 😡 was the table beside who came later than us and have their food ordered at the same time with us. Yet their food came first and our food only came after they finished their food!!!
We have been in Europe for the last 2 weeks and visited a lot of restaurant in Austria, we have not encounter any restaurant with a service this disastrous! It’s very discriminating! IS IT BECAUSE WE ARE ASIAN AND YOUR RESTAURANT AND YOUR STAFF DO NOT WELCOME ASIAN? I hope it’s just the service staff that was with our table is behaving this way and...
