My wife came across this place by accident as it was a holiday and everywhere else was packed. That includes the more touristy places you'll find with 4.8 stars and 5000 reviews. We saw that it looked quite lively and chanced our luck in getting a table. The restaurant was so accommodating and we got a lovely table in the back despite it being quite busy. It was a very cosy atmosphere and the perfect temperature after walking in Vienna in November for 40 mins looking for a place.
And all of that before we even ordered a dish...
The food was the best Austrian food we had in our full trip. The Chicken schnitzel was cooked to perfection and the portion size was Herculean - 2 large cuts and fried wing too! With a side of amazing potato salad. My wife ordered one of their weekly dishes - a pumpkin cheese ravioli. It came like many ravioli dishes in Italy that bemuse tourists as they often don't have a tomato or cream based sauce. It was instead coated in a light olive oil dressing and I could have eaten 4 plates of it! It came with a delicious side salad with a light dressing. For dessert we had the strudel which was also excellent. When they waiter asked if we wanted cream or ice cream with it and my wife asked which he would recommend he said "Why not both?" and asked the kitchen to include each. The ice cream was lovely and the meal overall one of my favourite holiday meals of all time. My wife and I travel 3 months a year so this was a surprise for both of us. I cannot recommend this place...
Read moreOne of three waiter was serving me food, he didn‘t lose smile while he was serving. Waiters and waitresses speak english to foreigners, but since i could speak german, i talked to him in german. I asked him if any seat was free. „Haben Sie noch einen Tisch frei?“ At the moment, all the tables i saw were reserved. However, he said i could take one of the reserved seats, but i need to leave before 19 because then the guest will come for that table. Anyways, i ordered #Kalbwienerschnitzel mit Apfelsalat oder so. With 0.3 l budweiser. I‘ve lived in germany for almost three years and had schnitzel quite a lot. But this schnitzel was the best one i‘ve had so far. It was crispy and tasted amazing with the potato salad. The salad was with apple sauce which i loved. Gesamtkosten: 23,10 € but it was worthy. He was being so nice and explain what i asked him about the menu. 영어로 주문 가능하고, 친절합니다. 개인적으로 엄청 만족해요. 가격은 싼 편은 아니나, 먹어볼 만 합니다. 슈니첼 메뉴 중에 Faschierte(gehackte?) Kalbbutterschnitzerl 있데 이걸 더 추천드립니다. 차이점을 물어봤더니, 이 메뉴에는 다진 송아지 고기에 양파를 넣어 뭉친 후 튀김 슈니첼이라고 해요. 애플 샐러드도 같이 나오는데 얘는 가격이...
Read moreMe and my girlfriend walked into the restaurant on sunday afternoon. We are asians and we are terribly descriminated. We walked in and no one seemed to be willing to serve us, so we quietly sit in the corner try not to disrupt anyone.
A lady staff is kind to offer us an English menu. Nonetheless, rest of the staff is just ignoring us. After the food has came, I tried to ask for sharing plates since we dont want to make a mess for passing the food. This male staff (looks like a manager) with an annoyed expression literally yelled at us saying we already have our food plates why would we need another. I mean its okay not to give us the plates, but yelling is definitely not necessary.
The food isnt bad to be fair but I would not say its very good. Nonetheless, I just think that this discrimination act is terrible to be seen in a civilized city. We do respect the Austrian culture, we dont even try to raise our voice in the german speaking environment. Thus, I dont think we deserve that kind of...
