Brasserie de Bruxelles — Restaurant in Brussels

Quite unfortunate experience. The restaurant was almost empty but 30 minutes after ordering we were not served yet. We asked the waiter to take away our lunch as we had to catch our flight. Ten more minutes were needed to prepare the lunch boxes. An unpleasant surprise waited us when we opened the salad. The lettuce was in whole leaves and in bad condition, impossible to eat. The rest three dishes were tasteful. Also, the lunch bags did not contain any utensils. We had to ask for forks at another restaurant at the airport. We discovered this gem as we leisurely walked by the Jaques Brel plaza after visiting the child pisser. We were immediately drawn by the look of the restaurant and were invited to enter by one of the principals. One step in and the atmosphere convinced us to give it a try. However, it's the food that convinced us to return. We savored the local Belgium dishes that were recommended and the accompanying beer made it a complete late afternoon lunch. I went there because of the 5 stars rating for just one dish, the carbonnade flamande, and i should say it was worth every penny.
