Margaret's - Coffee Shop — Restaurant in Harrison Hot Springs

This is about a cashier at the Starbucks in Harrison hot springs hotel named Susan. My husband and I were lining up to grab breakfast before our kayak tour, and there was a Caucasian couple ahead of us. I’m not sure where they were from, but I could tell that they had a foreign accent. Susan was very friendly towards them, and provided them with great service. However, when it was our turn, her attitude changed drastically, as if I had said something horrible to offend her. I am not from Canada, I am of Asian descent and came here as an adult, so naturally, I would have an accent. I have never experienced such rude behaviour from any customer-based service staff. She would intentionally make me repeat what I said, and stop and stare at me until I do. When she repeated my order, her tone was extremely rude and hostile. I have no idea how someone like Susan can hold a position in the customer service industry. I don’t want to make this a case of racial-related incident, but it seemed very odd to me why the Caucasian couple ahead of us received such friendly service, and the complete opposite for us. Unfriendly staff. I ordered iced caramel Americano. It tasted so bad like she put charcoal. I asked her how many espresso shots were in the coffee, so she was like uh, this is how it’s made, I put four for you. I didn’t even want 4 espresso shots since I can’t intake that much caffeine. Upon requesting to have it remade she was like this is how it is made and offered us to add caramel. After some back and forth she finally remade mine and managed to make it worse. I requested to go easy on ice. She was like I ain’t going easy on anything. She said ice melts anyways. I was like but that’s not the point. Miss Margaret's aka Starbucks, it is inside of Harrison Hot Springs Resort hotel lobby, coffee is pretty good. Varsity selections of coffees, cookies, sandwiches, juices etc just like Starbucks.
