I ordered Chicken Rice Box on Oct 7th at 6:27pm where supposed to be a Chicken Rice Box with Honey Garlic Sauce, Sauces: tzatziki, sweet and garlic, with Onions and Cucumber. The front counter lady (East Indian) was a bit rude with me, after she rang my order the first time and the price came up as $19.95 and I told her that she rang my order wrong, I only want chicken with rice with cucumber and onions, then the 2nd time she rang it, the price came up as $18.95. I told her that the price is wrong again as I went to this store 4 days ago and it was $14.95. I had to point it out the menu to her which one I wanted. Then she finally rang it for $14.69. Boy this lady and her coworker was showing some unfriendly attitude. She was working with the Caucasian lady at that time, and the Caucasian lady was the one who’s cooking. As I came home and opened my food, I did not see my cucumber and onions to it. Secondly, I noticed that they have provided less portion to me. I didn’t bother to come back as I was really really tired and hungry at that time, and didn’t wanna get my evening ruined by these 2 unfriendly staffs. These kids were rude, unfriendly and I don’t think they’re being trained for great customer service skills, or maybe one of them is being racist to Asian people?? I don’t know. I’m not so happy ‘bout it. Definitely not...
Read moreI was visiting from Vancouver and wanted to try something different from the usual Subcity Donair that I frequent when I’m back here.
I’ll start off by saying subcity isn’t great, but you know what you are getting- so the bar is pretty low here for donairs in West Kelowna.
I ordered the large donair and it was alright, it had a good amount of meat and the size was reasonable. It seemed like an actual legitimate donair, but they didn’t have the big logs of seasoned meat that they shave at my go to shops in Vancouver.
My one main gripe was the price, at almost $18 I feel like I could have a sit down meal somewhere and get an entree.
The staff was pretty inattentive and I waited at the front counter for 5 minutes while they played on their phones in the back and ignored me.
Overall I would rate it above sub city for quality, but subcity is familiar, and cheaper. My donair spot in Vancouver sells a much better, larger donair, fries, and a pop for 14.99… I know it’s not fair to compare, but I was really hoping for a proper donair experience.
Honestly, I don’t know how places like this stay in business with all the competition and cheaper options...
Read moreThe most unlively staff I've ever encountered. I just want to mention when an establishment requires staff to wear gloves, the staff have to take care and make sure they are changing their gloves VERY OFTEN. The girl working was wearing gloves as we approached the till. She had a sniffle and I watched her touch her face and nose area often. She then took our cash and gave us our change(dirty) with her gloves and proceeded to turn around and prepare our dinner. I straight up told her to change her gloves. This tells me proper food handling training has not been implemented in this establishment. We ordered 2 chicken wraps with all the veggies. I will say the chicken part of it was edible but the rest was just average. Horrible customer service at best with below average food for 40$ down the drain for 2 wraps and 2 bottles of juice. Do not recommend. You should be training you're staff how to greet a customer because if the food isn't the best, at least you had a nice smiling person to make...
