The place has decent food, albeit with tourist trap prices at an establishment with very low tourist appeal. Everything ordered was relatively tasty. But 10 dollars for a bowl of jeera rice is simply not reasonable. Some items were bizarrely spicy even for people who enjoy hot food, and the restaurant was seemingly unable to modify the spice level in curries when requested. I’d recommend they note the spice within the menu, particularly if spice level is not customizable. Put a picture of a chili beside the menu item, etc.
I have no real complaints about the service. Our food didn’t take long to arrive, and the people were pleasant enough.
The atmosphere here is just a massive letdown, bad enough that we considered leaving upon arrival. The exterior does not look promising, and they have an attendant at the entrance trying to lure people in - perhaps the first red flag. The walk up the dark stairwell did not inspire any more confidence, but we still expected to walk up to some form of a rooftop patio with a view, which is advertised on the signage. However, the patio (visible through the windows) is not operational and honestly looks condemned. The wrought iron patio furniture looks like a relic. So we sat inside. The interior is dim, extremely dated, and generally not cohesive at all. The few snazzy neon signs they’ve put up aren’t nearly enough to offset the dilapidated feel, and in fact they may have been the only lighting in the entire dining room. This place needs a lot of work. The bathrooms are substandard as well, with corroded faucets.
Why did we choose to eat here? Well, the Google ratings are absolutely ELITE. I am now confident that these ratings have been either spammed or paid for. When I scroll through the reviews, I'm seeing the same photos over and over, though that may be a glitch. Regardless, it’s impossible for me to believe that thousands and thousands of people have eaten here and found it to be anywhere near a five star experience. Highly dubious. That’s my biggest frustration here, and I’ve considered giving a one star rating based on the deception. If you sort by the lowest ratings (which I regrettably didn’t do until afterward), you’ll get a much more accurate impression of the restaurant. Ultimately, my review will be much like those - buried in a sea of five star ratings - but real ones know.
As I said, in my opinion the food wasn’t bad, but I can’t give this experience more than two stars. I never write reviews to hurt businesses, so I will hope the restaurant reads this and improves its ways. You may be able fool people once with your inflated ratings, but actually running a best in class operation will go a lot further. I have more I could say but...
Read moreI really liked the taste of food, will definitely try this place again another time soon and hope for an overall better experience in future.
I am giving 3-stars because I had a bit of weird experience. I ordered coke at the start and when I was halfway through my meal (I had finished momos and more than half of the biryani that I ordered), I remembered that I had ordered coke too. I was stupid enough to ask them to not bring it anymore because they forgot about that. To my surprise, I was issued a - “so sorry, but as you already ordered it, I will have to bring that (then they served a coke, lol)” I insisted thrice that I do not want it anymore, as I am done with my food and don’t feel like drinking coke anymore. I was unable to understand why it was so hard to make modifications in that order, when it was not something that was already cooked or in process of cooking. It was a bad customer service from my perspective if you can’t accommodate as per the needs of customers. I felt like I was forced to keep it. I don’t know why, but I did not felt like making an issue over this thing at that time.
Apart from this issue which might rarely happen with someone, I had some other feedback which might be appreciated by other customers -
Please please make momo chutney (the one served on side was just a red/chilli sauce, not a momo chutney) Btw momos were extremely well cooked and tasty, the white flour (maida) covering was of perfect thickness, loved it!! But I kind of hated that sweet sauce (probably mango chutney) on top of those momos, would have preferred it by the side or to be asked before serving Please also make Green mint chutney 🥹 If you serve biryani, starters, etc. that chutney adds a lot of taste Biryani was also well cooked and very tasty!! Washroom could have been cleaner.
Things I liked: Authentic Indian taste Good vibes (music and audience) and cheerful staff (but I had bad customer service experience as...
Read moreThis dinig experience was nothing short of a complete disaster, leaving a bitter taste in our mouths long after we departed. From the moment we began the ascent up what seemed like an endless staircase to reach the restaurant, we were met with a foreboding sense of dread. The dim, flickering lighting intensified this feeling, promising nothing but a guaranteed migraine. As if that wasn't enough, the deafening music assaulting our senses only served to compound our discomfort.
The wait for our food felt like an eternity, each passing minute serving as a testament to the restaurant's utter disregard for its guest's' time. When our dishes finally arrived, it quickly became apparent that the kitchen's standards were abysmally low. Not even sure where the girl was brining the food because all that area leading to kitchen and beyond was very dark. The chicken, emitting a repulsive odor, was utterly inedible, while a mere encounter with the Kashmiri goat was enough to deter even the most adventurous of diners. We did not even touch the goat and left. Our meal concluded on a sour note, leaving us with a lingering discomfort akin to the sensation of food lodged uncomfortably in our chests throughout the night.
As if the culinary catastrophe weren't enough, the exorbitant prices only added insult to injury. Our much-anticipated visit to Niagara Falls from New York was undeniably overshadowed by this lamentable dining experience, casting a pall over what should have been a joyous occasion.
In conclusion, I implore anyone even remotely considering dining at this establishment to think twice. Save yourself the agony and disappointment. Trust me, you'll...
