TERRIBLE SERVICE, MEDIOCRE FOOD. We were seated quickly, which was nice. It was pretty busy for a Sunday evening, but it wasn't overly packed or anything. They also had a decent number of waitstaff there for the amount of customers in the restaurant.

Our waitress took a long time to take our order, and when she did, it seemed like she was in a rush to just take it. She simply came over and said "what would you like?" I ordered ramen, and my fiancée got sushi. The ramen came out first... about 20 minutes before the sushi came out. Obviously, people like to eat together when they go out... I understand maybe a short time between bringing out plates, but 20 minutes??? When the sushi came out, the waitress just placed it at the end of the table and left it: didn't ask if we needed anything else, didn't ask if everything was good, nothing. I had to get up and go to the sushi counter and ask for sauce since we weren't sure when our waitress would come back, and how long it would take her to bring us the sauce if we asked.

Overall, the food was just okay. Nothing amazing, and the prices were average. The ramen was really not that special—below average at best—but the sushi was pretty good. We got water to drink, but didn't drink any since there were small white particles in it (and some slightly larger white particles)... We didn't have any chance to order a different drink or tell our waitress about the water because she didn't come to us until we called for her (read below).

When we were done with the food, it took another 15+ minutes of sitting around for someone to come over... but they didn't come over on their own; we had to wave hands around for another waitress to come. When one of the waitresses noticed us waving, she said "someone will be there soon," but we waited... again. We asked for the receipt and waited another few minutes... We're from the US, so I first tried to pay in US cash. The total was $33, and I gave her two $20s: so $40. She walked away and came back a few minutes later and told us that if we pay in cash, the change would be in Canadian currency, not US bills. I'm not sure why she couldn't have told me this first when I initially handed her US cash... I told her I would pay credit instead, and she said she had to go back and get the machine... We waited a few minutes, AGAIN, and as we were getting up to just go to the front counter ourselves, she finally came back.

The credit payment is done on a wireless POS. The waitress entered in our total and handed me the POS. It asked how much I wanted to tip and how I wanted my receipt. Since the food was nothing spectacular and the service was terrible, I didn't give a tip. Tips are recognition of the quality of service, not the food (hence why you tip the waitstaff and don't tip the cooks). I clicked no receipt on the POS and we got up to leave. The waitress was walking away and REPRINTED the receipt. She saw I didn't tip and said "have a good day" in a very nasty tone.

We will be coming back to Canada in the near future (not necessarily Niagara Falls), but will not be returning to Taku. I would not recommend coming here. Again, just average food and terrible service. Very...

We order DenDen Men, until my husband finish all the soup, found a pebble in his mouth, almost bitten down chipped his tooth. The chief came over to accuse us not knowing it was a fried black garlic. She tried to break it and show us, later she admitted it is indeed a small rock. Her attitude was not admitted the fact and laugh about it, no apology, until she almost lost the pebble (evidence) on the floor. Be aware of this restaurant, my daughter had diarrhea just now….

I just saw owner’s reply, we are willing pay for the meal, but it was only the attitude of lady chief humiliated my husband not understand the difference of black garlic and black rock.

The sushi chief was very rude, felt that he was going to start a flight with my husband.

As of me, the wife, I was never on the phone reporting to anyone, since I also cannot make call, due to no roaming service. It is all a lie from owner’s comment, make me question the integrity of the chiefs there.

If the lady chief’s attitude was apologetic, and admit to the ROCK incident at the start, we will not walk out very disappointed and frustrated. We are an international traveler, and that is why we ask to borrow phone from restaurant call health bureau. The lady chief confidently lend it to us, as if she is very sure that health bureau will not take us seriously. We will continue reporting this incident to health bureau. I can swear to God, the rock incident is TRUE. I have no finical gain to cheat a meal of 64.93. If my husband bit down the rock, imagine how much would the dental work costs him. By saying we are purposely ate the meal for free is very upsetting. The rock is not rice grain size (also a lie from the owner’s reply), I have never seen a rice grain that big in my entire life. Rice grain is soft. But rock is hard!!!!

Of course at the end of the day, we give you one start review base on the above incident. Who in the right mind gives 5 star review after all these unpleasant experiences….. from all the staff in this restaurant, only the young waitress was apologetic, but it is not her fault. If any one of you sees my comment, think twice to go to...

I came here a few months ago and I can not stop thinking about this place. I searched for an hour on maps just to find it again. Me and my partner had a long drive ahead of us and spent the entire morning nervously packing and rushing around. When we came in, we were jittery and nervous, not sure what to expect from somewhere that we only found after driving past it and turning around.

Atmosphere: The atmosphere was so warm and inviting. We were put in a booth with a privacy curtain. Everything was clean and cozy.

Service: We were greeted by the staff, and the girl who served me and my partner was just so bubbly and sweet. All the tension was immediately eased by the quick attentiveness and guiding of the staff to a private booth to eat. She was extremely patient with us and made the entire experience so much easier.

Food: I can not stress this enough. The food is genuinely the stuff of my dreams. I've thought multiple times about driving the 6 hours again just to come back here. The things we got were mostly salmon, and I hate fish, but my partner loves it. I can definitively say this restaurant changed my opinion on fish completely. To start, we got the new style sashimi. I was a little worried about the price at first, but after having it, I swear I'd pay double that. The sauce I would drink by itself. The dish tasted so fresh and was plated so lovely. We also ordered tonkatsu ramen and it just blew us away. The portion was so large for the price and location, that we had leftovers later (Which was perfect for our roadtrip) We also ended up getting the salmon lover combo, which my partner had most of, same goes for the boba. They seemed to love it at least

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Taku Sushi and Ramen in Niagara Falls, Canada, and it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. The moment I walked in, I was greeted with a warm and friendly welcome from the staff, setting the tone for a delightful meal. The ambiance of Taku Sushi and Ramen is both modern and cozy, with tasteful décor that creates a relaxing atmosphere. The menu is extensive, offering a wide range of sushi, sashimi, and ramen options that cater to diverse palates. I started with a selection of sushi, which was incredibly fresh and artfully presented. Each piece was a perfect balance of flavors and textures, showcasing the chef's meticulous attention to detail. The tuna and salmon sashimi were melt-in-your-mouth delicious, and the specialty rolls were innovative and bursting with flavor. The highlight of my visit was the ramen. The broth was rich and savory, simmered to perfection with deep, complex flavors. The noodles had the ideal chewiness, and the toppings, including tender slices of pork, a perfectly cooked egg, and fresh vegetables, were plentiful and high quality. Service at Taku Sushi and Ramen was impeccable. The staff were attentive, knowledgeable, and eager to provide recommendations. Their passion for Japanese cuisine was evident and added to the overall experience. In addition to the fantastic food and service, the prices were reasonable, especially considering the high quality of the dishes. It's clear that Taku Sushi and Ramen strives for excellence in every aspect, making it a must-visit spot in Niagara Falls. Overall, Taku Sushi and Ramen exceeded my expectations. Whether you're a sushi enthusiast or a ramen lover, this restaurant promises an unforgettable dining experience. I highly recommend it to anyone visiting Niagara Falls.
