South Street Burger — Restaurant in Toronto

I’ve been a loyal customer of this place for a while and have always loved their burgers. Unfortunately, today’s visit was a huge disappointment. The cashier who initially took our order was very nice, but then the manager stepped in and was extremely rude. Every time we asked about an addition or a topping, he responded in a very dismissive and unpleasant manner.

It’s supposed to be a place where toppings are free, but the manager kept telling us that most toppings weren’t available and that if we added anything to certain burgers, we’d be charged more. It made no sense since toppings are advertised as free. When we asked about waffle fries that were on the menu, he rudely said they didn’t have them in a very unpleasant tone.

In the end, the manager’s behavior was so disrespectful and unprofessional that we decided to leave without ordering. It’s really disappointing to see this kind of attitude from a manager. I hope they can improve their customer service in the future. Though I think I’m probably not...

This year I resumed ordering from South st burger!! Different business model (you no longer have to pay for additional ingredients). New menu items, new patties, new suppliers, better prices. Lately I decided to visit this location almost daily as it's newly open since August. For over a month now I observed consistent service excellence. I know it sounds fancy but I mean it. They really care and I know you might say they all do at the beginning and that's fine. In that case come by to check it out while it lasts for the duration of this "beginning". It's the cleanest location I've been to so far, staff is very polite and it's right next to the lake👌☺️. I'm actually glad I can supplement my diet with these veggie burgers. They also have plant based burger that's a soy free version but haven't tried it yet. That's all I got for you. A Hidden Gem for Burger Lovers!

I stopped by this burger spot on a whim, and I’m so glad I did. The burger was incredible — juicy, full of flavor, and clearly made with quality ingredients. I ordered the classic cheeseburger, and everything from the perfectly seasoned patty to the melted cheese, crisp lettuce, and soft, toasted bun was spot-on. You can really tell they care about what they serve.

The store itself has a cozy, welcoming vibe with a clean layout and friendly staff who made the experience even better. They were happy to make recommendations and even checked in to make sure I enjoyed my meal.

The fries were crispy and golden, and the dipping sauces added a great twist. Prices were fair, and the portion size left me more than satisfied.
