"WANT TO EAT LIVE WORMS THIS PLACE IS STRONGLY RECOMMENDED"
I am Victim of food safety hazard as I found a Live worm in my food ( Bean Burrito Bowl from Fresh Burrito - 16 Richardson St Unit-3, Toronto, ON M5A 4J9) Owner - JATIN KUMBHANI
So Last Thanksgiving Day - Monday (10/10/2022) we went to a Event which ended around 12.30 Am and were super hungry so went to Fresh Burrito (around 1.15 am) to have some food, I ordered bean burrito and when I started having it, I observed that there is a LIVE WORM in my food right away informed the employee working there, he accepted their mistake and at that moment I was only looking for refund and they promised that I would get a call tomorrow morning by manager and will be refunded via Interac by owner as he was not authorized to do so.
So I left store and drove back home to Kitchener, and awaited for manager's call which never came and I had to call in the evening to seek an update to which manager reported that he was super busy and forgot to call back as it was after a long weekend and mentioned that he would have to get in touch with his owner for refund, after 1 hour got a call indicating that I would be refunded but would need to Drive back to store and get my refund which was not feasible as its 1 hour 20 minutes drive from Kitchener so I refused to do so and requested for an alternative means of refund to which owner called me and said he could not do anything and I have to Drive to their store and get my refund.
When explaining my concern and inconvenience caused via him, he said if you get a worm in your food throw it away as if its normal thing for him and did not care with any health compliance or customer health and safety and started talking rudely and when I informed that I will escalate it he hung up stating you're welcome to do so. Which prompted me to escalate it further to food safety and Today I have escalated it further to Food and health Safety department giving them all evidence and one of them is attached below.
Being a resident of Canada we expect a type of customer service and Food Safety which was clearly not followed by this business and I would urge everyone to avoid going to this particular store as they clearly don't care about their promises and certainly seems they do not regret...
Read moreSadly this Fresh Burrito is not as good as it used to be. The ingredients and items are fine but service and execution have really slid. They are extremely slow now with pickup orders. To the point where you should order 10-15 min before you leave.
I’ve been coming on and off for a few years and this has been the worst it's been. It's honestly very staff-dependent. The employees who are older and are more experienced are still good. But the new young hires don't know what they are doing. Multiple times I’ll order ahead, walk there and it's still not even started yet (!) let alone ready. I don't know if they are prioritizing in-store customers first but it should be by order sequence not the whims of the staff. The food has also declined accordingly. I got rice when I didn't select rice. Today my partner's chicken bowl had a weird seafood taste, almost as if from cross-contamination. As I was waiting for my slow pickup order today I saw the young guy burned my burrito and reopened it to put it in a new wrap. All he did was add more sauce so of course it leaked all over the bag. Of course the wrap fell apart at home too cause he toasted it in a hurry. See my last few pics. Fresh Burrito please improve your staff supervision and training. Honestly might stop coming cause the service has gotten so bad.
Update: Ordered pickup again and it wasn't even started when I got there. Even worse, they added a ton of rice to my large bowl when I specifically ordered no rice. (See the last two pics) this was definitely the last time I'm coming here. Too many order mistakes and the service is terrible. No response from...
Read moreI’ve been coming to this place for about two years now but it’s definitely been going downhill, which is quite unfortunate because I want to like this place a lot.
Portion sizes - it’s a laughable amount of protein you get in one burrito/bowl. For the first time in a very long time, today, I had to ask a worker to add more meat to it, which the worker proceeded to add one bit of chicken and stare at me afterwards? It felt like trying to find lost treasure on a beach when I was looking for the pieces of chicken in my bowl.
Service - generally this is very staff dependent on the level of service you get. Some workers are very kind and efficient, while others will be very slow and be counting the number of meat and vegetables they put in.
Communication - it kind of ties with the second point, but again jt’s very staff dependent. Some workers I have no trouble with, while others I have to repeat my order multiple times. Not sure if it’s due to lack of training or not, but notable enough for me to add to the review.
I’ll give it another shot next week, but if that experience is about the same as what I had gone through the last few times, i think I’ll just stick to ordering from chipotle or other burrito like places instead. It’s more expensive via ubereats, but I know the food and service will be more consistent.
Now I gotta go find some snacks to eat because the bowl i just had was smaller than a kid’s meal at mcds.
TLDR: portions, service, communication - inconsistent. Dependant on staff serving you. Be ready to be...
