Big Beach Bar & Lounge: Located within the Black Rock Oceanfront Resort in Ucluelet, British Columbia, this gem offers an unforgettable dining experience overlooking the mesmerizing Pacific Ocean. As you step into the lounge, floor-to-ceiling windows reveal breathtaking views of crashing waves against the rocky shoreline. The ambiance is both soothing and invigorating, making it an ideal spot for brunch. The menu at Big Beach Lounge caters to all tastes. Whether you’re a seafood lover or prefer classic pub fare, there’s something for everyone. Try their light snack menu, perfect for sharing with friends and family. Pair your meal with a house-inspired cocktail, and you’re in for a treat. The friendly service and ocean breeze create an inviting atmosphere. Locals receive a 10% discount on all food orders, a thoughtful gesture that recognizes their importance to the community. Visitors and locals alike gather at the long bar, exchanging tips on exploring Ucluelet’s treasures—the Wild Pacific Trail, the Ucluelet Aquarium, and nearby surfing beaches. Not bad for a hotel lounge. Not great either. Expensive and the food was nothing special. They try too hard instead of concentrating on the basics. Service was good at least. The chicken sandwich I had was loaded with all sorts of junk that didn’t belong but the fries were very good. What’s wrong with a chicken burger with lettuce and tomato? Why do you have to try and fancy something so basic up? It just ruins it. Wife had some chicken appy that was pretty good and she had the seafood chowder. She said it was terrible. It had more chunks of tomato than seafood. She said she found 1 piece of clam in there… should be called tomato with seafood soup. Not seafood chowder. Oh yea… want a cocktail? $16. No thanks. Had a $7.25 bottle of Kokanee beer LOL. if you are staying here and don’t want to travel anywhere then go for it. Not great but judging by our other restaurant experiences in this town… may as well...

Our dinner here was incredibly disappointing. My husband got the burger and asked for no tomato (a very simple request) which they didn’t listen to. I got the fish and chips and it was almost inedible. By deep frying standards, it was burnt. The fish inside was so disgustingly dry. I couldn’t cut thru the crust with a knife without the whole thing exploding in shards of fish and crust. I’ll attach my photo as it doesn’t look like the other photos of fish and chips. The coleslaw wasn’t great. Super watery and not like any fish and chips coleslaw I’ve ever had. Our server also wasn’t great. It seemed like we were bothering her any time she spoke with us. She wasn’t friendly at all and it made the whole experience really awkward. She only had a few tables and we ended up waiting 10-15 mins just for her to bring the machine. There are SO many other restaurants in town that are much better than here. Highly...

Day 1 in Ucluelet staying at the Blackrock resort with amazing oceanfront views even from this restaurant. Had high hopes for this bar given it’s located at a 4 star hotel and advertised as “artisan inspired culinary experience” and unfortunately I’m very disappointed again with our first dinner here in Ucluelet. We ordered the seafood chowder (unappetizing presentation ), chicken burger with fries and crab dip as an appetizer. Chowder arrived almost room temperature , barely any seafood in it and didn’t taste very good. I had to eat it coz it cost $16 and I was hungry. My hubby’s burger was so mediocre and fries were cold! I would say the best dish we got is the crab dip and yet it was just ok…thankfully our eyes is fed by beautiful scenery otherwise I definitely will not come back. :((

Visited the Big Beach Bar and Lounge on three different occasions while we stayed at the resort. We were biased towards the wings. Great wings and a view, can't beat it. The staff, Nathan and crew, worked all three days we were there were great. Very welcoming, friendly, and made tasty recommendations. We had the Wings (x3 - maybe the best we've ever had), Pakora's, charcuterie, and field salad. Of course a few drinks along the way. The Ucluelet Cider is one of my new favorites. Protip: order the Maple Hot Wings. You will not be disappointed.
