Underwhelming, soggy, basic ingredients. I ordered the "Diamond Head" and "Hawaiian Classic" to go. For the Diamond Head, I didn't customize it at all, and got a large with a brown rice base. For the "Hawaiian Classic" I got a small with a salad base. I was not impressed by the look and taste of the "Hawaiian Classic". Although the tuna was marinated well, the rest of the bowl lacked texture and freshness—the salad base was shredded Romaine Lettuce, which wilted and became extremely soggy at the bottom in the Shoyu. Canned pineapples were used as a topping, and since I do not tolerate nuts, I asked for no nuts. Let me say, the resulting picture and the picture of the bowl they had on the website was substantially different (taking into account I asked for no nuts). The portion was small, especially since they have different sizes for the bowls (mine was in a small bowl but serving still seemed small). As for the Diamond Head, it was exactly how I expected it to taste, it was okay, not bad, but nothing to write home about that sets it apart from other Poke shops with a similar flavour profile. Also, at the end, the staff offered sauce on top if I wanted (free of charge), but since I was taking it home, I asked if I can have the sauce on the side so it won't be soggy. She said the sauce on the side would be an additional charge. Inflexibility is a big no-no. I...
Read moreSome co-workers and I were attending a conference at the Sheraton Wall Centre, and we walked past Pokerrito on our way the first morning. When we were set free for lunch, we made it back just a few minutes before the rush (and it was quite a rush - no one when we arrived, about 20 people in line within minutes!). We ordered the Diamond Head (brown rice), Aburi (kale noodle), and Hanauma (brown rice), respectively. There were no complaints about either the Diamond Head or Aburi; I'd say there was somewhat too much ginger on the Hanauma. Everyone tried everyone else's, and we all liked the Aburi best.
The next day, two of us went back (one had other plans already or would have been with us). This time we didn't beat the rush, but at least we were at the beginning of it - only 8 people back. We both ordered the Aburi, and while we both wanted kale noodles, I was first in line and got the last ones. While watching other orders get put together, I decided to add seaweed salad to mine, and my co-worker added the spicy seaweed salad to hers. We were both thrilled with the results - my Aburi with seaweed salad on kale noodles was heavenly! We talked later in the day and we agreed that the rice was more filling than the noodles, but we were both craving it for lunch again tomorrow. By the time we left, the line was out the door several people - totally...
Read moremahalo iā 'oe !! WOW I am now totally hooked from a first time visit of Pokerrito! Solid and deadly Poke competition in Van. I got a BYOB Shoyu Ahi Tuna, Spicy Tuna and Prawns Poke Bowl. That thing was super tasty, awesome mix of flavors with wholesome ingredients and a very plentiful generous portion at a very reasonable price. The taste and grade of the poke scoops was incredible, fresh and vibrant, I cannot describe how yummy this was. I also especially S/O digged their Spicy Wakame, never seen it before and a must have topping for the perfect Poke. The only reason id give this a 4 instead of 5, is that it was either the Kale Noodles (albeit super yummy and squishy) or the Citrus Ponzo or Gojuchang (dope!) dressings were too heavy handed and caused quite a lot of water residue at the bottom of the bowl and made the second half of my bowl too soggy. I love how much Spicy ingredients they have to offer which elevates Poke to a heavenly delight. The staff are super talented at making delicious grub and also super nice people. Remember your Pokkerito rewards so get saving for those scoops ya'll! Also please add compost bins in your restaurant :) Support...
