Went here with one other person around 9 on a Monday night and was a bit nervous since the place seemed almost deserted. There was only a kid and one person eating inside. We waited a couple minutes then a lady came from the back and seated us luckily.
After that, We ordered thai ice lemon teas and our entrees. When the food came out, I completely forgot to take any photos because I was so hungry. I had the Pad Thai dinner combo and my date had the Green Curry of the same. We both tried a bit of each other's dish and they were super flavourful! It tasted very fresh and homemade. Everything in both dishes mixed together so well and it wasn't too oily. I'm extremely glad that we decided to stay as the food was excellent.
At the end of dinner the waitress asked us if we wanted to try their homemade coconut ice cream. Typically I'm not a big fan of coconut flavours, but we decided to try it and I'm glad we did. It came with a circular wafer on top and a ring of peanuts around the scoop. The coconut flavour wasn't overpowering and it mixed in quite well with the peanuts.
Other than the food, the atmosphere was a little awkward because there was no music or anything playing at first, but the waitress put on a background video later with some ambient instrumental music. She treated us really well and was very sweet.
Overall I would definitely return to try more dishes from here, hopefully at a time where its not quite as empty.
Just a side note: If you're not used to spicy food, ordering mild still might seem...
Read moreNow, this is what I would call a "hole in the wall" restaurant which, upon entering, added to its authenticity. There is very limited space to dine in, which signaled to me that most of their customers either ordered delivery or to-go.
I called to place my order, but no one picked up, so I ended up taking the walk to this restaurant - which I randomly picked from a slew of other thai restaurants.
The gentleman who took my order spoke very little english, but was friendly and patient with me as I tried to figure out all of what I wanted (I thought I would remember - but alas, my brain had clocked out for the day). I ended up placing an order for two soups (thai wonton and crispy chicken with noodle), chicken pad thai (thai noodles, egg, bean sprout, topped with ground peanuts), and the thai salad with peanut sauce (sliced chicken, fresh crisp lettuce with tomatoes, cucumbers, onions, carrots, and egg with peanut sauce), which they cooked from scratch. The pad thai was chef's kiss, the salad was light and refreshing (though the peanut sauce was more reminiscent of a sort of coconut curry taste and consistency).
I enjoyed every item I ordered and enjoyed the fact that I introduced my friend to a new thai spot. We had enough food to last us 2-3 days, which is a nod to their generous portion sizes.
I definitely recommend with the caveat that you should order ahead to reduce...
Read moreA delicious feast for a fantastic price of $14.99 for the dinner combo! I got the Pad Thai ผัดไทย which came with two veggie spring rolls, two wontons and salad. I wolfed the whole lot with no regrets, but gosh I was stuffed afterwards. The staff here are super friendly, talented and apparoachable. This is a very quaint, authentic and home-style cooking vibed joint which is very welcoming and gives me great nostalgia of awesome experiences and everyday Thai culture. Their menu caters extremely well for veggie options, offering all the great Thai classics and in which all of them are super tasty. They also have pretty frequent lunch and dinner combo offers for different types of dishes to give you a good bang for your buck and a big feeding. Although my Pad Thai ผัดไทย was very tasty, my only slight complaint is that the noodles were not fully cooked and therefore a bit on the chewy side. Apart from that, a fantastic dining experience and would definetely recommend. Khob khun ka ขอบคุณค่ะ !! Support...
