Visited on a weekday at 1130, thought it would be opened but waited till 1145 before the restaurant. It was drizzling so had to bear the cold and queue in the rain as the queue was pretty long. Despite being long, I was able to get into the restaurant as the first batch before all the tables were occupied. The queue was quite systematic as there was a separate queue for takeaway which I understood you could call and order in advance and you be given a queue number or take your order on the spot for takeaway. Heard so much about this place because have seen lots of IG reels on the big pork chop so decided to come here and try. Guess its because of the IG reels the place is more crowded now and there are more tourists than locals. The menu is only in Chinese on the walls, but I guess there shouldn't be much difficulty for tourists because most people only come here for the curry pork chop rice and probably also the stir fried beef noodles. So I ordered the curry pork chop rice and an iced milk tea. Didn't take long before the dish was served. Oh my it definitely looks humongous the videos really don't do justice to the dish. As you can see the pork chop was so big several slices actually fell off the plate! I have to say it tastes as good as it looks and the pork chop was hot and crispy throughout, even when I poured the curry over it. It was so big that I could just be full just by eating the pork chop and not the rice. I wondered what was the correct or best way of eating the combination but I decided to pour the entire curry on the dish. It felt good but somehow lacking because the portion of curry wasn't a lot it didn't get to cover the pork chop and the rice, so I ended up finishing the pork chop and the little areas where there was curry on the rice. I didn't actually think much about it and thought the dish was delicious up till the point of payment then I realized it was actually on the expensive side. It's a dish in a local shop but the price is more to like a dish in a restaurant in a shopping mall. Nevertheless I thought it's still worth the try and quite sure its worth the money because high chance this has to be shared between 2 people at least. I even saw people sharing together and then requested for takeaway for the remaining unfinished food. Not much you can order in the day. I will definitely return and would visit for dinner next time to try the side dishes as well.

A must visit spot for amazing Hong Kong style curry paired with a generous plate of pork chop over rice. I came on a weekday for lunch and didn't eat breakfast before coming here because I saw how big the portions were and I didn't want to be carrying leftovers all around the city so I had a big appetite coming in. If you do come here for lunch, you honestly can portion the curry pork chop into two meals because it's that generous; I couldn't finish all the rice but made sure to finish the meat. The bowl of curry was small if you compare it to the amount of food they give you but I'm sure you can ask for more, either for free or for a small fee. The curry is different from Japanese curry and it's more aromatic and sweet; almost like a soup that you can drink. It pairs well with the pork chop that's fried; not too crispy like tonkatsu but just enough crisp to enjoy. The interior is small so expect to sit with strangers if you're a party of one. Our table ordered their beef noodles, which came out hot, which is how we like it and the color was excellent. Not every restaurant can cook it well and they do a fine job at it. Also, their milk tea was great too, but it had too much of a milk taste for me. Overall, I would come back again and enjoy another plate whenever I'm back in town visiting family.

Recommended! Most famous for its Curry Pork Chop rice, the cozy local restaurant Sun King Yuen has been one of the neighbourhood’s favourites for decades. The restaurant only opened for the peak lunch and dinner hours, and you can expect a queue! We have visited around 8pm tonight for takeout and there were quite a queue outside the restaurant still! • Food- We tried curry pork chop and curry beef Curry- very Hong Kong style, so if you are more used to Thai or Indian curry, you might find it very different. But nonetheless tasty and we loved the tender potatoes! Pork chop- totally totally worth the hype! Easily the best fried pork chop I have ever had. It was fried just right: tender, well seasoned, juicy, thin fry batter in a very generous portion! Beef- was fine, but not nearly as amazing as the pork. • Service and ambience- the small diner was very cozy, we’d prefer takeaway. The service was EXTRAORDINARY! The gentleman who took our order tonight at the door was such a delight! He was welcoming, passionate, friendly and sincere, we would revisit and revisit just for him and the great pork chop! I usually take better photos but I just could not wait to dig in!

Order of curry fried pork chop rice and stir fried beef rice noodles. Comes with a chicken and pork stock soup. Rich in flavor but slightly too salty. Also comes with a side dish of standard Chinese broccoli in oyster sauce. Rice noodles had good wok hei and flavor, with a suitably crunchy texture on the bean sprouts. However, they were a bit oily, and the beef itself had a slightly noticeable papain taste. Ratio-wise I would have liked more noodles and less beef. Similarly, the pork chop had a slightly apparent baking soda flavor. Texture was good - reminiscent of a German schnitzel more than Japanese katsu. Curry itself comes with a potato in it and is rich, salty and spicy, with seemingly Malaysian influence (coconut milk, curry leaf). The pork is meant to be dipped in the curry. Jasmine rice is properly cooked and fragrant, and was actually the best part of the meal for me. I would come back for the rice. Portion sizes are roughly 1.5x what a big eater would be full with. The atmosphere was weirdly quiet, and not in a comfortable way. Overall, not bad but it didn’t meet my high expectations.

We got in line around 11:20am, and there was already 8 people in front of us! By the time the restaurant opened at 11:45am (yes, we thought they opened at 11:30am), there was already 30+ people waiting in line for both dining, including takeout. It's definitely worth the wait, the pork chop with Hong Kong curry sauce was spectacular. I also saw quite a few tables order the fried chicken, it looked yum! I would hold off on the beef ho fun, it's not the best we've had, but I guess it offers some level of variety. We were 3 people eating, and were given a 4 people table. Good thing, we didn't have to share the table :) also, if you were coming alone, they do have a loner table where they have plastic boards separating you from other guests, so you can get your own personal space while sharing a large table for 6 together. 2 pork chop dishes were ample for 3 people! With the beef ho fun, our total was about 343! Really good deal for high quality dining experience! Would definitely come here again!

Super long line but worth the wait We ordered both the signature dishes - stir fried noodle with beef and the curry pork chop rice The noodle is a little oily, you can see from the photo how shinny it is The curry pork chop rice was the best thing! OMG one of the best I have had, it’s crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, the texture is just so perfect! And when you dip into that curry sauce, it’s heaven! I love it but my husband thought the curry sauce is a little too spicy for him One point to note is they have a minimum charge of $68 per person when you dine in, the price of each dish is on a higher end but really good food for sure The takeaway for same food is way cheaper so that’s also why you’ll see a huge crowd during lunch time outside the restaurant Last but not least, the staff is very friendly, usually when you go to a busy and famous restaurant like this, the staff tend to be more angry/grumpy/rude, but that’s not the case here
