Papa Gayo presents a diverse menu featuring an array of seafood dishes that are sure to attract enthusiasts of fresh ingredients. Notable options include the sea urchin risotto, which showcases a creamy texture and rich flavors, and the octopus linguine, where tender octopus pairs delightfully with perfectly cooked pasta. The lemon butter seabass is another highlight, offering a zesty complement to the fish that enhances its natural flavor. For those preferring lighter fare, the garden salad provides a refreshing contrast, filled with crisp vegetables and a simple dressing.
However, while the food is generally satisfying, the presentation leaves something to be desired. The dishes often come out looking quite straightforward, which might not fully reflect the culinary creativity that one might expect from a seafood-focused restaurant. This simplicity in plating can make the dining experience feel less special, especially when compared to other establishments that emphasize visual appeal.
On the service front, Papa Gayo excels with attentive staff who are frequently attentive to diners’ needs. They ensure that plates are replaced promptly, allowing guests to enjoy a seamless dining experience without feeling rushed. This thoughtful approach to service enhances the overall atmosphere, making patrons feel well cared for.
That said, it's worth noting that the food preparation can be a bit slow. Patrons may find themselves waiting longer than anticipated for their meals to arrive. This slower pace could be a consideration for those in a hurry or looking for a quick dining experience.
In summary, Papa Gayo serves tasty seafood dishes that are enjoyable but may lack the visual flair and speed that some diners seek. With attentive service and good plate replacement, it remains a solid choice for those who appreciate good flavors and aren’t overly concerned with presentation or the pace...

Read moreCame here because it was recommended to us while we were vacationing in Hong Kong this past week and I was disappointed. We sat down, took someone 10 minutes to give us menus and didn't even get asked what drinks we wanted. The lady with short hair and glasses came and took our order which turned out completely wrong because she never wrote anything thing down when four people were ordering completely different things. Then when we told her our bills were all separate she seemed very unhappy we were splitting the bill. She even went as far as to roll her eyes and had an annoyed attitude with us. On of our orders was wrong, then when all the food as on the table except my order I asked what the eta was only to find out it was never put in. Despite all of this I simply said it was no big deal that they didn't need to make it for me anymore. Oh and I can't forget our waitress taking shots instead of seeing if we needed anything. I will never recommend this...
