So we sat at a table directly under blasting ac. So cold that we had to move seats. They also forgot to serve us tea.(yum cha literally translates to drink tea (Cantonese for dim sum). (There is a mandatory charge for tea ) At the end of the meal we brought it up and the server was all “what kind of tea do you want?” Told them we didn’t want it anymore as we were getting ready to leave. Then when I brought the check up to the front and asked the server to take the tea charge off she lied. Told us she did in English. She assumed because we speak english that we don’t read Chinese . The issue being my wife can read Chinese took one look at the receipt and was all “the charge is right there”. I brought the receipt back and the lady refunded us. Food is pretty good but no longer as special as it used to be. (Many places in Hong Kong now that are more notable...

A Michelin guide recommended restaurant with numerous chains across the world. Hoped to try THW in its original country to see if it's better than Sydney.

Typical efficient and to the point staff. Furnishing and decor is actually immaculate and relaxing. Tea was exceptional and I definitely considered buying it. Overall, food is decent but I think a bit overpriced

Lotus leaf wrapped sticky rice: S, 8/10. Quite fragrant with a nice chewy texture. Solid

Salted egg shrimp fried rice: S, 8/10. Tasty though a bit salty. Not worth $160 though.

Deep fried oyster: S, 8/10.

Har gow: SS, 9/10. Juicy shrimp and light wrapping. Very good

Special beef ball: A, 7/10. Quite light and fresh in flavour. Would be nicer with a more...

Of course it's not cheap eating here. But the quality you get. Worth it. Highly recommend their braised chicken feet. I ordered the one with abalone sauce just to try. Slightly pricier than the one braised in.... soy sauce? i forgot. Do try that if you want some collagen. If you are not into sweet beverages, do order the Chinese tea, which they serve in a teapot. It's HKD 8 per pax in the group, i suppose. I ate alone. Since drinks from convenience stores be like 5-10 HKD, or even higher, i guess a yummy tea at 8 dollars is a steal. Forgot to snap a picture of my dessert, the osmanthus (did i spell it correctly?) flower jelly. Such a treat for the summer!
