Goethe's Beer House - Goethova Pivnice — Restaurant in okres Karlovy Vary

I overheard one of the waiters rudely asking an elderly couple who were paying by card 3 seperate times. How much they they were going to tip. Not "Would you like to tip?". I then asked for the bill. The waiter brought the card machine over and seemed to want us to use the card machine. So I decided to pay in cash. He asked me how much I wanted to tip him. I said you will find out when you bring me back my change and I'll leave it on the table when I leave. He didn't understand and must've just thought I wasn't going to tip him. He returned with my change. 7CZK short. Not alot in the grand scheme of things But it was the principle behind it. Not wanting to make a scene. I just left. I wouldn't be surprised if people are being taking advantage of multiple times per day. It happened twice in the space of 20mins yesterday. Also I see alot of other fairly recent comments talking about similair incidents.

This feedback is not about food, which might be good. This is about how waiters (one in particular) handles the situation with guests.

Just after we sat at the table the waiter came and said we can't stay there. He was pretty nervous already. So he literally pointed his finger at another table near the passageway and staff room where I wouldn't like to sit. He said we have to sit there, cause it's for two persons and we occupied a table for four.

When I asked what's the problem (the dining hall was half empty) he sad it's not working for him and we have to sit at the table assigned by him. After I asked whether we can stay here, the answer was "No". We had to leave, it was extremely rude.

Maybe for a city centre restaurant another couple of clients leaving with bad mood doesn't count as you have hundreds of clients daily. But try at least one "sorry" and "please" explaining why it has to be done your way.

PS. At the summer terrace we were told that the only free table is for 4 persons, so we can't sit there. Other couple sat at 4 sits table just in front...

the food was good, not exceptional but good enough, and, overall, the waiters were affable. However, a waitress, who i suppose is also a manager or has some kind of bigger responsability, was unpleasant. This man is skinny and wears a black vest.

Everything was going fine until one of the dishes we ordered arrived. The dish contained bacon , or a cold meat similar to it, but it was raw. We did not know that it would be uncooked because in the photos from the menu it looked fully cooked. We politely asked to one of the waiters if he could take it back to the kitchen and cook it but it wasn’t possible. we finally decided to change the dish. After waiting for about 10 minutes. The man i mentioned before came to our table with the dish we asked to change in his hands. He was basically laughing at us. We tried to explain the situation but he refused to listen. he was bad-tempered and irritating.

Once again, the food was alright but it was the service that made our experience...
