Wow! Outstanding classic Czech restaurant with a fascinating history. Located well off the beaten path, catering primarily to locals and blissfully void of the tourist crowds packing Charles Bridge and the Old Town Square. My wife and I were brought here by local guide Jana as part of a walking tour and were very pleased with both the food and service. Antonio the bartender, one of the nicest people in a city full of charming personalities took great care of us and will always be considered a friend of ours. Despite the distance from our hotel, we visited three times during our stay in Prague and I will miss the friendly and welcoming atmosphere, food and the truly excellent but difficult to find Mala Strana beer on draft. When we return to Prague this will be one of the first places to which we look forward...

It came with a nice cabbage salad and type of "smetana" sauce, which we personally found not as the best match for the meat. I liked the cucumber salad - fresh and crispy, though it comes in a bowl soaked in some sweet liquid, which is not for everybody's taste. We also had two soups- one goulash which was ok, and the duck liver soup, which had a very soft taste- maybe too tasteless for some. Overall, not bad but maybe too pricey for the type of food they...
