Wow! Outstanding classic Czech restaurant with a fascinating history. Located well off the beaten path, catering primarily to locals and blissfully void of the tourist crowds packing Charles Bridge and the Old Town Square. My wife and I were brought here by local guide Jana as part of a walking tour and were very pleased with both the food and service. Antonio the bartender, one of the nicest people in a city full of charming personalities took great care of us and will always be considered a friend of ours. Despite the distance from our hotel, we visited three times during our stay in Prague and I will miss the friendly and welcoming atmosphere, food and the truly excellent but difficult to find Mala Strana beer on draft. When we return to Prague this will be one of the first places to which we look forward...

Update: I went today, and it was just like it was 25 years ago - old-school Czech food, great beer (now from Vinohradsky Pivovar, absolutely top-notch), friendly staff, and very reasonable prices. The decor hasn’t changed and it doesn’t need to, I really like the Old Prague vibe and can attest to the fact that it’s original, or at least it’s the same as it was in 1999. I love love love this place and am over the moon that it’s back! Original post: I am DELIGHTED to see that this place is reopening soon. It was one of my favorite haunts for many years, but my guess is that it fell victim to the pandemic like so many other restaurants in Prague. I will definitely come...

Very simple and average food. The stuff is very friendly and welcoming, also they speak and have menu in English. We had the mixed skewer (red meat, pork and chicken), which looked impressive but tasted a little dry. It came with a nice cabbage salad and type of "smetana" sauce, which we personally found not as the best match for the meat. I liked the cucumber salad - fresh and crispy, though it comes in a bowl soaked in some sweet liquid, which is not for everybody's taste. We also had two soups- one goulash which was ok, and the duck liver soup, which had a very soft taste- maybe too tasteless for some. Overall, not bad but maybe too pricey for the type of food they...

Very good place, although, not really spectacular por the price. We came here in an snowy day, and it was absolutely fantastic to have a hot meal with a delicious soup (thr potato soup is superb). The beer is great, very good flavor and served very cold. The food was very good, we tried the duck and the roasted boar, but as I mentioned earlier, we have had better food for a similar price. The place is beautiful, wood finish everywhere, including the hardwood floors. There are hangers all around the place for coats and purses, which is very convenient. Also, there are tables of various different sizes.
