Dining at Coda Restaurant (which is inside the Aria Hotel) in Prague is an experience that goes well beyond the ordinary, blending artistic flair with culinary expertise. The restaurant specializes in fresh international cuisine, prepared with an attention to detail that can satisfy even the most discerning palate. Each dish is not only a feast for the taste buds but also for the eyes, with music-themed artists painted on each plate, adding a unique touch to the dining experience. I've dined at Coda twice now, both times were exceptional!
Perched on the rooftop terrace, Coda offers breathtaking views of the city, making every meal feel like a special occasion. From this vantage point, diners can overlook the historic city of Prague, enjoying the picturesque skyline while indulging in their meals.
The menu is a symphony of flavors, featuring dishes like Seared Scallops with a ragout of apricots, spiced gently with jalapeños for a kick of flavor. The Seared Medallions of Yellow Fin Tuna are another highlight, served with organic quinoa a la tabouleh and a lemon vinaigrette, accompanied by baby bok choy in a divine sauce. For those who favor a touch of decadence, the Seared Tiger Prawns on a bed of Squid Ink Linguine in a garlic sauce with tomato relish make for a memorable dish.
Desserts at Coda are just as inventive, with offerings like a delicately layered White Chocolate Mille-feuille, accented with black pepper, fresh raspberries, and a raspberry emulsion, providing a perfect end to a gourmet meal. Each bite at Coda is designed to delight, making it a must-visit for foodies and travelers alike, eager to experience the culinary riches of Prague from one of its most spectacular...
Read moreWe ate here on our final night in Prague and it was the worst dining experience of the trip.
We arrived at our reserved time of 7 pm on a rainy Monday evening. The terrace was closed so we were seated in the restaurant where we were the only guests. Indeed, during our entire meal there was only one other couple seated, which in retrospect should have been a warning sign.
There were 3 wait staff who served us; a young woman, and two middle-aged men. The young woman was pleasant and well-intended but obviously inexperienced and generally unknowledgeable. The two men were aloof and projected an attitude of boredom and smug condescension that one might expect in a Michelin star, but not here.
The food included the crispy duck leg which was edible, if unremarkable. However, the service was glacially slow, especially given that we were the only guests. It was almost as if we were being held captive so the restaurant would not look completely empty.
The wait staff at this restaurant should be required to shadow those of area restaurants with outstanding customer service. A good place to start would be the restaurant of the Pod Vezi Hotel near the Charles Bridge where we ate several times and where the wait staff went out of their way to be pleasant, engaging, considerate and...
Read moreA colleague Concierge from the Aria Hotel recently told me about their rooftop restaurant Coda, and honestly, it was love at first sight. Just a few tables, a cozy romantic atmosphere, and that gorgeous view of St. Nicholas Church.
A few days ago, my boyfriend and I finally went there, and wow… it was even better than I imagined. I knew the food would be good, but I didn’t expect it to be that good. We’ve tried many great restaurants together, but here we both agreed – this was truly one of the best meals we’ve ever had. Every single course was perfect, the flavors blending together so beautifully it’s hard to even describe.
And then, of course, the setting on the rooftop, the romantic vibe, and the service – just incredible. We were looked after by Matěj, and the way he took care of us… that’s exactly how you want to feel on a night like this.
People say there’s always room for improvement, but honestly, our evening at Coda couldn’t have been any better. The restaurant, the view, the food, the wine, the service – everything was just flawless.
Thank you for giving us such a beautiful...
