We arrived in Prague mid morning and our room was not ready for a few hours. Ferdinanda,s was just a few minutes walk from the hotel and on passing it was full of people, always a good sign! We managed to get a table and ordered the goulash with dumplings and a beer, it was stunning, the sauce was rich, the beef melted in the mouth and the dumplings were light and tasty, just right for mopping up the delicious sauce. We used the the restaurant every evening while we were staying in Prague, and the menu which is full of local delights came up trumps every time. From the fried bread with garlic and chilli, topped with crumbled blue cheese, to the huge smoked ham which you carve yourself at the table accompanied by delicious spiced cabbage and pickles. We stayed at The Grandium, which is very close to the restaurant, how lucky as if we had found this little gem at the other end of the city, we would have had quite a lot of travel as would have still been drawn back. The service is just right, not too much interaction and not too little. Can not praise this Ferdinanda's enough. Just one word of warning, go easy on...
Read more“Koleno” here was perfect, BUT (!!!) we were shocked because of the following situation: on Wednesday, the 29th of May, we were here and the waiter ACCEPTED euros (we paid by card and left a tip in euros), BUT TODAY (the 1st of June, 2019, 7 p. m.) EVENING another waiter DID NOT ACCEPTED euros AND DID NOT ACCEPTED payment by card! And we were forced to go to the ATM 2 times and pay a big commission (about 12 euros) in order to withdraw cash IN EUROS (the first time) AND TO WITHDRAW Czech CROWNS (the second time)!!! We said to the waiter that on Wednesday the other waiter ACCEPTED euros, but this waiter today did not want to listen to it! He stubbornly stood his ground, and this situation DEFINITELY SPOILED OUR MOOD today! So before going to “Ferdinanda” PLEASE NOTE that here you are not in the European Union, as EUROS ARE NOT ACCEPTED, and that some waiters may spoil your...
Read moreI want to be careful with my review;- finally we got the meal and it was not so bad. Anyway, all of us (we were two couples) left this place with not a good feeling. Travelling with an infant, you are on a babies rhythm, so Ferdinanda was our next point to feed the child. I asked the waiter for a hot water to prepare babies porridge. In a minutes I asked for a plate, after that for a spoon. Now he was less polite and responded that I will get a plate if will make an order. I do realise that staff is busy, so sometimes you need to be patient. We appreciate waiter's job and pay respect to. But this time it was different. They weren't glad to see us. I didn't see any smile. In addition, there was no child seat, so one of us was required to hold a child. Meal was served in 10 minutes after it was ordered. Summarising all above we give Ferdinanda 3.5...
