My experience with this place:

staff was kind, I would say too quick in terms of ordering. Once u are finished with the food and drinks, they “rush” you to pay and leave payment - now it becomes interesting. One waiter (woman) says that we can pay by card but we have to go to the cashdesk. But later we heard another waiter (man) saying to the customer THAT IT IS NOT POSSIBLE TO PAY WITH THE CARD AT ALL… luckily we were able to.. make your own opinion location is perfect - few minutes from main station Food - prepared really fast and big portion too

Restaurace U Staré Pošty is a traditional Czech restaurant located in the heart of Prague’s New Town, between Wenceslas Square and the Main Railway Station.

Location: Opletalova 1964/17, 110 00 Prague 1

Opening Hours: • Monday to Friday: 10:00 AM – 11:00 PM • Saturday and Sunday: 11:00 AM – 10:00 PM

The restaurant offers a cozy interior that evokes a pleasant atmosphere. Guests can enjoy a variety of quality Czech and international dishes, including pork and game specialties. The beverage menu features a wide selection of quality beers, such as tank Pilsner Urquell and non-alcoholic Radegast.

In the summer months, patrons can relax in the pleasant seating area in the inner courtyard. The entire establishment offers Wi-Fi access, and pets are welcome.

Customer reviews highlight the authentic local cuisine at affordable prices, noting that the establishment is frequented mostly by locals. However, it’s worth mentioning that the menu may not be available in English, though the friendly and helpful staff can assist with selections.

For those seeking a genuine Czech dining experience in Prague’s city center, Restaurace U Staré Pošty offers a blend of traditional cuisine and a...

NEVER GO TO THIS PLACE!!!!! I just had a shocking experience in this “restaurant”. The waitress (blond lady with glasses) and the man who stands at the door were behaving like I am an enemy because I try to eat there! First she made me sit at a table with reserved sign, I had to go back to ask if anyone booked this table. She was swinging her arms me and said sit where I find other table. After I sat down, ordered beef gulas and a beer. The food wich is supposed to be fresh in some level was at my table in 3 minutes. It was completly tasteless and the textute was weird. I did not eat it, I was sitting there for a while to drink the glass of beer. After I asked the bill the waitress showed me a handwritten piece of paper as the “bill”. I told her I would like to pay with card. She said no! I asked her how can I pay for my food (which was not even edible)? I did not have any cash on me and it is not written anywhere obviously visible that they dont take card. So I was asking could you recommend me a solution, is there any atm somewhere!? She turned her back towards me, i had to ask multiple times to tell me where is the ATM! She said bring EURO, then I got 50EUR from the atm as it was the minimum amount. I went back and I found the male waiter at the counter, I said, I would like to get EUR change not Czech krona, he said ok, he went to have a “briefing” with the waitress, he came back acting kind, he said he will change it for me. He went to the Exchange office on the street and instead of changing my euro to smaller notes he exchanged the whole 50EUR to Czech krona, he came back thrown the money to table and said take! They refused to give me the bill, they were just showing me the handwritten piece of paper. The whole experience was surreal...

Very disappointed here, after waiting for maybe 10 minutes without being noticed by waitress I have decided to get menu myself so I can read what they offer. The waitress started shouting at me what do I think about myself, that she would bring it to me, I am not allowed to pick it myself. I was kind of scared telling her to stop shouting. She replied that this is not self-service so why am I picking it myself. (I simply did not want to wait and read it, this never happened to me anywhere). Other waiter served us, after this I lost my attitude to eat and only took soup. It was disgusting, full of glutamate and I regretted coming here at all. The only nice person here was an old man, probably some family member of one of the employees, was really nice to all of guests and picked used dish. He gets 2 stars, otherwise would be 1 from me. No way I will...

Advice for everyone, but for foreigners in general: DO NOT COME HERE. The old guy cheated us. We ordered pilsner and nealko pivo, he brought gambrinus (and he didn’t want to change it) and the nealko, but charged us 10 czk more for the gambrinus and 18 more for the nealko + he took the tip for granted. He was impolite since the beginning, he wanted us to pay as soon as we ordered with the purpose of cheating us and do not think about the price. Once we realized we complained that we paid 36 more crowns for the beers, and we made him give the money back to us. He brought the money back in 1 and 2 crowns back. DO NOT COME HERE!!! I am sorry for the waitress, she looked kind This is the worst service I have had in Czech Republic since 2016

Pivo teklo proudem a objednali jsme si i pár panáků, díky čemuž jsme do Imperialu šli ve velice dobré náladě a lehce rozjetí.
