My boyfriend and I are probably the biggest fans of this place! While on our trip to Prague we decided to stop here to eat once after we saw Knedlín being recommended all over social media and we probably could not have made a better choice. We loved the dumplings/knödel, so much so that we decided to come back again during our trip (especially as the location is so convenient, being in the center of Prague). First of all, although they may look small, the dumplings are bursting with filling and flavor, and they’re sure to fill you up swiftly (the 5 in the picture were more than enough for me and my boyfriend, and we're not light eaters!), so they are perfect for a quick meal when walking around Prague. There is a lot of choice which varies day by day based on availability, but I would say that it is mandatory to get a sweet dumpling! I recommend one every two people, or one per person at most, as they are very satisfying but also a bit heavy and really sweet. I think the price is really fair, we were very happy to pay around 60 Kč per dumpling. The restaurant itself is quite small but definitely nice, the decor is cozy and welcoming, especially upstairs, with huge windows that look out to the city, creating a nice contrast between coziness and modernity. The bathroom is also well-maintained and clean. Service is also very good! The second time we came, we were a little worried as not that much time was left until they closed, so we asked whether it would be okay for us to order (and whether we should opt for takeout instead), but they welcomed us with open arms, telling us that there was no problem whatsoever and to take our time, which we greatly appreciated! Ever since we came back in Italy, we've talked and joked about going back to Prague even just because of this place, so I absolutely recommend it to anyone, tourist or local!

was recommended this place by our local guide and we loved it! this shop caught my eye from across the street with its dark green exterior and hanging green plants, only upon reading the italicised name on the door front did i realise this was what i was looking for. their service counter was full of colourful dumplings lined in rows, service was fast and friendly as they just pick the dumplings right off the shelf (still hot!) and serve them directly. they had both sweet and savoury dumplings, with some very unique combinations. for savoury we got the burrito beef & corn (good but not strong tasting enough), garlic & cheese (a bit too salty) and balkan cheese (this was my favourite, strong deep cheese taste). for sweet we got blueberry (not bad, had whole blueberries inside), caramel & hazelnuts (tasted more like custard than caramel? no strong caramel taste but still tasted good) and chocolate (this was my favourite but i have a really sweet tooth). overall, it was a really fun experience from picking dumpling flavours, cutting them open and watch the filling ooze out, and every dumpling tasted really different. i would recommend this place for a fun quick meal! i would recommend 1.5-2 dumplings/pax (good for sharing) as each dumpling is quite big and filling. also notice how in my first picture our drinks were served in paper cups? during the course of this meal we realised that all other asian customers were served disposable paper cups but non-asian customers were served proper plastic mugs which could contain a larger volume of drink. they only serve two types of drinks at this place btw, with no option to choose the size of the drink. for this small but obvious microagression i will be docking off one star.

I stopped by for brunch around 11 am. The place wasn't crowded, and there were plenty of open seats. The restaurant is quite small, so space is a bit tight. It was clean and cozy with 90s music playing in the background, which gave it a relaxed atmosphere. It's a self-service setup. You get your dumplings on a tray and grab your own cutlery and napkins. I actually liked that casual vibe, but can't imagine how it works out when it gets crowded. I tried three different dumplings. They were served warm, although one was a little too cold. • The feta cheese with wild garlic was probably the highlight. It had a nice crunch and a bold combination of flavors, though it was a bit too salty. • The chicken souvlaki dumpling didn’t win me over. The filling was watery and not warm enough. The meat was seasoned well, but the overall flavor felt average. • For dessert, I had the pistachio dumpling. I didn’t love it, though I’m not a fan of sweet dumplings to begin with. The filling was bland and the texture too runny for my taste. Even with a few letdowns, I genuinely enjoyed my time there. The atmosphere was pleasant, the self-service setup worked well, and the prices were fair. I’d come back and try different flavors next time.

Located in the heart of Prague, Knedlin has an undeniable charm that catches the eye of any passerby. However, my experience at this restaurant left much to be desired.

Upon entering, I was greeted by an overwhelming smell of grease and a disorganized seating arrangement. The staff seemed preoccupied and uninterested in providing any level of service beyond the minimum. As for the food, it was average at best, lacking the authentic taste that I had hoped for.

While the location of Knedlin is undoubtedly a selling point, the overall ambiance of the restaurant left me feeling disappointed. Additionally, the lack of attentive service and mediocre food were major letdowns for me.

For each star lacking in my review, I deducted one for the greasy smell, disorganized seating arrangement, uninterested staff, and average food.

As for improvement suggestions, I would recommend the restaurant to focus on improving the quality of their food and provide more attentive service to their customers. Additionally, a deep clean of the restaurant would go a long way in improving the overall ambiance.

While I may not recommend Knedlin based on my experience, I do believe that with some effort and improvements, it has the potential to become a standout...
