I had the opportunity to visit Prague on the night of November 9th and decided to explore the city's most renowned sauna. However, my experience was quite negative and did not meet my expectations. The place seemed stuck in the 80s, with a depressing and unwelcoming atmosphere. Additionally, the unpleasant smell of the wooden sauna was unbearable, while the dark Turkish bath generated some fear and disgust.
During my visit, I noticed that the place was empty, with only adult men and two young individuals at the reception.
Unfortunately, one of them (Peter) was extremely rude, barely paying attention due to constant chatting and displaying a curt attitude when answering any questions. I even had to go out to withdraw cash from an ATM since they didn't accept credit cards (possibly to evade taxes). The receptionist, who provided unpleasant service, seemed particularly unprofessional. On the other hand, another employee, whose name I didn't mention and who, by the way, was very attractive, he left the bar and treated me well in one of the saunas 🤤😅 (it was the only redeeming part of my visit). It is incomprehensible how a place like this can be approved by health authorities, considering the unpleasant and unbearable smell of the wooden sauna. Furthermore, the wooden floor gave me an electric shock on my foot, which made me immediately leave the place. But the worst was yet to come. 😡😡😡
After sharing my experience in a Google review, I received a message on my personal INSTAGRAM account the next day from Peter, the receptionist! How was it possible for this individual to take the trouble to find my personal Instagram account and respond to my review?
This worried me greatly, as if he could find my Instagram, he could also potentially use my information to harm me. As a precaution, I had to change my account to private, delete my comment, and replace it with a 5-star review.
I find it unacceptable for these kinds of situations to occur. Instead, I would advise you to avoid visiting this sauna. Additionally, the beer is excessively expensive, and the entrance leaves much to be desired.
During my visit to Prague, the bad experience in the sauna caused me so much fear, especially since it was my first time in Eastern Europe, and the discomfort led me to seek refuge in my hotel for 2 days and limit my activities outside because I was traveling alone . It was truly disappointing that such a negative incident spoiled my stay in this...
Read moreThe place feels not really catering for the customers. it has a good number of people on average night, but facility and services should be improved. Perhaps more lights like the photos advertised, better hygiene ( when was the last time you cleaned behind the seating area ), and maintenance ( lockers are not secure enough, and showers are not all proper ) .
You might find toilet rolls in some cabins and areas , there is no disinfectant or lubricants.
People smoke cigarettes in the toilet , and staff + customers vape and e-cigs all around the place.
Guys are bare foot , and they walk on everything and everywhere ( i will let you imagine a walk through a place where guys don't mind smelling like BO).
On my first night , someone used my towel in front of my eyes as if he owns it. another guy who was unstable was allowed to be a customer , and a customer was bothering others without the staff moving a finger.
merchandising items at a premium, selling cigarettes without a proper smoking room, and 2023 posters are not an atmosphere for the current clientles
i do realize that my review will trigger a backlash from the sauna management, but you can do better with improvements instead of being defensive about the reviews. You ( management ) might be hard to find or approach when customers would like to voice their concern , so they do it online. If it is needed ... the responsibility falls on you as management to keep everyone healthy and safe while using your facilities.
Simple measures can help everyone to come back and have a better experience, but after 2 nights , i think i have a good idea if i would want to...
Read moreThe largest and most centrally located sauna in Prague. Staff was friendly even with limited English. We went twice, once on a Thursday when it was quiet but still a few guys with fun to be had. It can feel empty because of its size (especially the cabins downstairs). Apparently saunas in Prague are busiest after work to early evening (5pm-8pm). The front desk guy/bartender told us to come earlier on Friday before the foam party started and he was right. Lots of guys around 7pm-9pm with lots of fun to be had. Foam is limited to one room but it gets everywhere lol. If you've never been to one of these before, it can get slippery and when the foam machine kicks in it can reach 8 feet. Several guys including myself almost suffocated on the foam. It's scary and funny at the same time. Just leave the foam room for a bit until it lowers again. My only complaints would be that the steam room does get very hot so it gets hard to stay inside, slippers should be included with cover (especially foam night), and locals seem to only stick to other locals, while the tourists are more open-minded and...
