Great bar for karaoke, gets busy so keep an eye on your drink (personal experience here), when we had an issue the staff and especially the owner/management will not take responsibility for the safety of their patrons and blame it on the customers “stupidity”, we will be returning and hope to obtain an apology from the owner for his comments on my original post (won’t hold my breathe), we will review it again soon once we have been back so watch this space.
UPDATE
WOW WOW WOW, the response from the owner is shocking, it is their duty to ensure appropriate searches are carried out to prevent illegal substance coming in to their venue, I use to work as a head door supervisor for many years and although you are not allowed to "strip search" you can search pockets, bags, wallets etc, if the management are that blazay about this happening on their premises where they have a DUTY OF CARE towards all patrons then maybe they should not be in this industry, I took as much care as possible with mine and my wifes drinks, but when you have a crowded bar (obviously over capacity) and people getting over intoxicated and knocking tables and reaching over tables it only takes a split second for someone to drop something in to a drink without you knowing, and as for you saying the staff are only there to serve drinks, yes they are but every member of staff has a responsibility and duty of care towards everone within the premises under your licence, and it is your legal responsibility as the owner to ensure all persons within the premises are safe and have an enjoyable time, there were several times during our visit where people where climbing on chairs and getting extremely rowdy due to consuming excess amounts of alchol but not once did any management or members of staff do anything, the person who you placed on the door (well at the top of the stairs) was on his phone on his facebook and on the several occasions where myself and a friend went out for a cigarette not once did he even notice and people entering just walked past him and he did not even know they were there which is not what he is being paid for.
Consider making some changes to ensure your and your staff take more responsibility towards your patrons and that everyone can have an enjoyable evening in your venue.
Less arrogance and more manners from the management goes a long way and that is why you...
Read moreIf you're looking for a cozy and unique spot to grab a drink in Prague, the London Underground Bar is definitely worth checking out. From the moment I stepped inside, I was struck by the bar's underground ambiance, complete with brick walls and dim lighting. The service was friendly and efficient, and the drinks were expertly crafted and reasonably priced.
One of the things that sets the London Underground Bar apart from other bars in Prague is its focus on classic cocktails, and they definitely do them justice. I especially enjoyed their take on a classic Negroni. The bar also has a great selection of beers and wines, so there's something for everyone.
I did dock one star for the somewhat limited seating options, as it can be a bit cramped during busy periods. However, the bar's overall vibe more than makes up for this minor inconvenience.
As for suggestions for improvement, it would be great to see a few more small plates or snacks on the menu to accompany the drinks. Additionally, some additional seating options or rearrangement of the current seating would make the space feel a bit more comfortable.
Overall, I had a great experience at the London Underground Bar and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a unique and cozy spot to enjoy a drink in Prague. I definitely plan on returning on my next trip...
Read moreHonestly a really good place to do karaoke… if the Brit 50+ y/o karaoke-master isn’t there. I have been there numerous times with good experiences, but suddenly the manager employs his friend who is a complete control freak. He turns down the volume of the singers microphone so only himself can be heard. Furthermore, he denies certain people in groups from singing together if it doesn’t fit his agenda (e.g. let’s only 2 in a group of 3 sing together because he feels like it). But this isn’t the worst part… He is quite disgusting as well; requiring women to share their “Facebook relationship status” out loud when this was clearly not comfortable for them, before allowing them to do karaoke. Anyway, spoke to the manager last night and it honestly didn’t sound like it was the first time he heard the critique, but nepotism unfortunately always finds its way in the world. To finish; the other karaoke-master employed is an absolute gem who should be treasured. Only giving it 1 star to make sure the behaviour of the awful...
