Vapiano — Restaurant in Prague

We craved for some Italian food so we went to this place "VAPIANO" which was just 2mins away from our hostel downtown in prague. It is inside a shopping mall and they have a pretty good hugh space under them. They paying and placing order concept was pretty different then a normal restaurant, they provide you a card to each one of their guest which is used to place an order and then amount is directly get credited into it and as you exit from the place you have to submit those card at the cash counter and pay accordingly for your food.

We ordered for a pasta, two pizza and a garlic bread since we heard alot about the place and their food we had some really great expectations from the place but they were a total FLOP. Pasta was delicious as it was make your own pasta we added all the veggies and ingredients we personally love and it turned out to be really good but their pizza was a real disappointment. We had the margarita pizza it's Dough was really dry, base sauce was as good as nothing it was a tasteless pizza for me and garlic bread was the worst one i ever had, it was same dry as the pizza or maybe even more because i was really struggling to eat it with almost zero taste of garlic in it. I never had such bad experience in pizza till this date, once can surely try their pasta but their pizza can be avoided.

Ambiance is decent and the service is to but it can't manage to hide the fact that their food is not so good.

The food was very nice, and the staff cooking was great - my only complaint was that after buying a full dinner for 2, I wanted plain tap water and it was difficult to get. This annoys me - it seems to be a scheme to encourage purchase of drinks. When I want water, I don’t want to create waste buy buying bottled water. This should be easy to get at any restaurant. To add more detail as Vapiano seemed interested to know, I have been to Vapiano in Germany many times, and also here, previously in Westfield Chodov. There has always been water available that was self service. In Novy Smichov, they had the glasses but no longer self serve water. I was told I had to go to the bar. I went there and asked for a glass of tap water and they seemed to be surprised. When I asked for one for myself and my son, they said I could only have 1. When I asked the cook who was so kind why I was given a hard time, he said the bar only gives water when you buy a drink. So he himself went to the bar and got me a carafe of water and 2 glasses. my girlfriend and i are the biggest vapiano fans on this world. Today we want to try this vapiano for the first time. And it was horrible. We came in at 20.30 pm ( 1 hour befor it close ) we went to the chef who was supposed to prepare our pasta. At first he looked at us like we are the cringest people ever and after we said to him what kind of pasta we want to eat he started to cook… i have never seen such a demotivated and aggressive chef… For example he deliberately let our salmon fry too long. Then he ask me something in his language and make fun of it that i don’t understand it. At the end he give us our pasta and aggressively put it on the table. I had pasta with PINK sauce (plot twist: the pasta was orange) i dont know how a guy can be so demotivated but i think you have the wrong job sam;) the only reason why i give this restaurant 2 stars is that the barkeeper at the bar was the sweetest guy ever.
