🍽️ Alma Exemplified: A Memorable Culinary Soiree 🍽️

Our evening at Alma was, in a word, exceptional. From the moment we entered, we were attended to by a team of knowledgeable and hospitable staff, setting the stage for a truly unforgettable dining experience.

Instead of opting for the mains, we decided to try the small plates menu, which proved to be a decision we'd cherish:

🥩 Beef Tartare, an artful assembly of flavors with mushroom emulsion, aronia's tartness, crispy pork cracklings, and toasted bread.

❤️ Duck Hearts, graced by the presence of Mangalica lardo, a delectable chicken glaze, subtle fennel, shallots, and an apricot ketchup that added an intriguing twist.

🍅 Langos, an exquisite creation featuring tomatoes, velvety stracciatella, a drizzle of parsley pesto, and a fragrant bouquet of wild herbs.

🦴 Marrowbone, adorned with an herbaceous crumble, the nuttiness of black nuts, the sweetness of currants, fresh herbs, and that perfectly toasted bread, again.

The culinary journey was beautifully complemented by the selection of local natural wines from Milan Nestarec and Jaroslav Springer, adding depth and character to each dish.

And while we chose to forgot dessert, we couldn't resist sampling the Mezcal Negroni with coriander seeds, a flavorful surprise, and the Alma Old Fashioned, crowned with a caramelized pinecone that was nothing short of remarkable.

Alma's atmosphere, with its industrial aesthetic softened by the presence of fresh flowers and flourishing plants, provided the perfect backdrop for this...

Comfortable and non pretentious restaurant with exceptional dishes. We arrived early but they were happy to accomdate us at the bar for some drinks before we moved to a table for dinner. Everyone was very friendly and professional.

Neroni sbagliato cocktail - was quite nice and light with a bit of herbal and citrus aromas.

Pear 75 - the more interesting cocktail of the two in my opinion, with deep pear flavours and a bit of sparkle.

Smoked mackerel with pumpkin juice - very well balanced dish with deliciously fatty, salty smoked mackerel combined with the light sweetness of pumpkin juice and mild acidity of blueberries.

Marrowbone - another great starter, a great usage of the fat of the marrow with all the other ingredients to make something that didn't feel heavy.

Pink oyster mushrooms - highly recommend this dish - it was a perfectly grilled mushroom with a light creamy sauce, and paired perfectly with the Slovakian white wine recommendation on the menu.

Pork neck schnitzel - a modern take on the schnitzel. Juicy, tender but firm schnitzel with a light batter topped with pickles, black trumpet mushrooms and others for a variety of textures and flavours, rounded off with a light brown butter sauce.

Side dishes - potato rösti with capers and mayo - very tasty. Curly kale with sunflower seeds and garlic oil was also nice addition to the meal.

Daily sorbet with whey - simple but still interesting and with some depth! It was more firm and creamy than usual sorbets I've had but not...

One of the best restaurants ive been too, i cant really understand the negative reviews for starters ive had langosh which was soft my partner ordered tartare which was excellent for the main course we both had duck breast and for the dessert we both had yuzu ice cream, i really loved the dining experience. The staff was extremely professional what suprised me the most was that they didnt even have a textbook they just remembered everything which in a hectic enviorement is pretty surprising that they still got our order right. Now to the only thing that kind of bummed the so far fantastic evening: the restaurant was pretty loud which isnt a problem, but one table in particular stood out, it was a group of younger people that were not only misbehaving but were completely disrespectful, they were screaming through the whole restaurant, put their DOG on the table ?! and were overall not being respectful to other guests, i know its not the fault of the restaurant or the staff but i think at some point especially restaurants that care about other guests should ask those kind of customers to leave even though they spend alot of money there. But it was still an amazing evening and i would reccomend this restaurant to everyone thats in search of a gourmet like dining experience.
