This place must classify as “off the beaten track” or there would be more people here. Granted, you have to duck and go down some stairs to get in, but this is the Old County, who lets that stop them? Beer: Different enough from the big Czech brewers to merit a Recommended by me on UnTappd. Their 12° lager is delicious and not challenging for people who dislike hoppy beers. The special was a lightly smoked ale. Delicious. Food: Had the beef rib. It’s huge and absolutely delicious. I wish I had taken a picture of it because it was impressive. Served with shredded radish and a “celery purée” with pearl barely, all of which complimented the rib perfectly. The only (minor) complaint: more Demi glacé sauce would have been welcome. I indulged myself in the mini-pancakes with blueberries and was rewarded with something completely unexpected. This was also delicious. Atmosphere: Quiet, old pine an brick archways. Read moreA great experience, all of the beers were absolutely great, place has a very nice atmosphere, stone brick walls, cozy lighting and a fire place. Food was great, we had the venison, it was very well made, soft and flavorful meat, served with a gravy sauce and nice baked potatoes, our surprise of the evening was the duck pate, with a buttery consistency, together with the rum raisins and onion jam made probably one of the best pates I've tasted.
There was a single server, running all around the place doing the best he can serving all the tables, and he did a great job, never waited more than a few minutes before another beer was poured.

Read moreThis place is an absolute gem! Would give more than five stars, if possible. Below street level with a comfortable and cozy feel, the wood fire was roaring and the Christmas decorations were awesome. Our waiter was lovely and you could see the care and quality of the food/menu when the food arrives. It’s sneaky gourmet, too, with great prices yet very high-end presentation and flavor. Can’t go wrong with anything on the menu. I haven’t even talked about the beer yet…while there are only a few options, they’re all quality offerings and clearly made with skill and focused on pairing with the food. I had a full glass of all three of their beers and they were all absolutely delicious. This was the best experience we had in Prague over the...
