I visited The Dog Bar on 29/03/2025 with a friend, and while the venue itself was fun and had a great atmosphere, the customer service, especially at the cloakroom, was absolutely unacceptable and disgusting.

At the beginning of the night, my friend and I checked in our coats and paid with the plastic card they give you at the door. I was given a token and thought nothing more of it. When we went to collect our coats at the end of the night, however, the staff claimed they had no record of the transaction and refused to return our belongings. My friend had unfortunately lost her token but was willing to pay the fee to retrieve her coat. Despite this, the staff wrongly insisted that we must have paid on her card (which we knew for a fact was not the case).

I offered to pay again, described our coats in detail, showed pictures of us wearing those coats that we had taken THAT day, and even listed the personal items inside my pockets (including sunglasses, a card, and train tickets) to prove ownership. Still, the staff refused to return our coats. Instead, they ignored us, continued serving other customers, and acted as if we were inconveniencing them simply by asking for what we had paid for.

We stood there for over 25 minutes, begging for our coats in freezing temperatures, but the staff simply didn’t care. Eventually, we were forced to leave without them. Considering that we were traveling and had no other warm clothing with us, this completely ruined the following day of our trip.

The next evening, we returned to the bar as soon as it opened to try to retrieve our coats. The bouncer at the door was helpful and called the manager for us, but when we spoke to the manager and the cloakroom staff, they laughed in our faces, spoke to each other in Czech whilst laughing at us, and treated the entire situation like a joke. We explained what had happened, but they repeatedly dismissed us and claimed their staff would “never do that.” And claimed that “that’s impossible.”

At this point, I demanded that they check the CCTV footage from the night before as there was a camera right above the cloakroom. It was only then that they finally looked for our coats and, unsurprisingly, found them exactly where we had said they were. Instead of offering a sincere apology, they looked shocked but barely acknowledged their mistake. They provided no compensation, no explanation, and no attempt to make things right. At one point, we were considering filing a police report and reporting them to trading standards as we have paid them for a service and they have failed to deliver, had we not got our coats back, this would’ve been theft.

Key Issues: • Cloakroom staff are either dishonest or completely incompetent at tracking transactions. • They refused to return our belongings, despite proof of payment and ownership. • The customer service was beyond rude—laughing at distressed customers and ignoring us. • No accountability or apology was given, even when they realized they were in the wrong.

If you are considering visiting this place, DO NOT use the cloakroom. Keep your belongings with you, as the staff seem to have no problem taking money for a service they don’t provide. If we hadn’t returned and demanded CCTV review, we would have lost two expensive coats.

I would NOT recommend this place to anyone, especially if you are a foreign visitor. The staff made it clear that they did not care about treating us fairly, and their dismissive attitude completely ruined what should have been a fun experience. Avoid if you value basic customer service...

MY CARD WAS TAKEN BY THE BARTENDER AND I WAS TAUNTED TO TEARS BY THE TWO MIDDLE AGED BOUNCERS AFTER GOING TO THEM FOR HELP.

HOSTILE BOUNCER, BALD MAN WITH TATTOOS. RIDICULED ME AFTER THEY MADE ME TEAR UP FROM FRUSTRATION.

I ASKED TO CHECK THE SECURITY CAMERAS FOR FOOTAGE AND THEY SAID THE CAMERAS “DON’T RECORD THE PAST ONLY THE PRESENT”

IF YOU PLAN ON GOING HERE, BE PREPARED FOR THEIR PERFECTLY ORGANISED SCAMS AND THEIR ILLEGAL POLICIES THAT THEY LABEL AS “THEIR SYSTEM”

THIS ALL HAPPENED IN A TOTAL OF 25 MINUTES FROM ENTERING THE BAR

What happened: I put money on the card and followed their regular procedure to get in. I walked straight to bar and handed my card to the bartender to get a drink. He makes my drink and gives it to me without giving the card back. Once I realise, I ask nicely for my card. The bartender is dismissive and denies that he has it, and he shows me a card he had behind the counter but states that it is not mine without any reason. I WAS COMPLETELY SOBER, so I knew what I saw. I checked all of my surroundings and bags, nothing was there. I stupidly ask the bouncers for help and one of them immediately in hostility accuses me of lying saying “THESE EXCUSES HAPPEN EVERY NIGHT” so I question him on whether that is something they should be worrying about. He tells me I’m lying again and he calls a member of staff to help as he is more fluent in English. I point out the bartender to this guy. It doesn’t seem like it’s worth doxing the bartenders appearance, as after reading other poor reviews, this is a common occurrence with the this place, and should be expected from any member. He has a conversation with him and he says it’s his word against mine and there’s not much he can do. HE TELLS ME TO SPEAK TO THE MANAGER, SO I AGREE BUT HE SAYS THE MANAGER WAS BEHIND THE BAR WITH THE BARTENDER. Implying he’s not going to help me because he had just spoken to him, and already knew the situation. At this point I was so upset and frustrated I just go back upstairs upset and try to leave. The guy who tried helping me was at the door, so I ask if he can let me leave as he just saw my situation. He still tells me YOU CANNOT LEAVE WITHOUT GIVING THE CARD BACK, UNLESS YOU PAY 500. Biggest scam ever. I HAD ALREADY LOST 400 AND AS A STUDENT I WAS NOT HAPPY WITH PAYING 900 (£31) FOR NOTHING BUT ABUSE. The staff all refused to let me leave until the card was returned. Obviously that wasn’t going to happen or be of any help. WHILST WAITING FOR THE MANAGER, THE BOUNCER SCREAMED AT ME CALLING ME A LIAR AND A BABY. WHEN THE FRONTMAN SAW ME STARTING TO TEAR UP HE SAID “MY DAUGHTER CRIES THE SAME WAY WHEN SHE WANTS SOMETHING” Eventually the guy who helped me said some words in Czech and the bouncer let me out “this one time”. I don’t know what he said, but my guess is that the guy knew something, as I doubt the bouncer would have let me go if he didn’t say anything. I can’t believe this happened, if it wasn’t for the fun environment I would not have anything good to say. Keep your eyes peeled as this is the biggest scam perfectly set up and they must be...

One of the worst bar experiences I’ve ever had avoid this place like the plague.

Walked into this grimy, late-night dive expecting a decent time thanks to what sounded like a cool concept. You pay at the door, top up a card with cash, and use it to buy drinks. Fair enough seemed convenient at first.

I put €17 on my card. That’s where the scam begins. I expected to spend this balance throughout the night, but instead, I got gaslit by some of the most rude, dismissive, and frankly shady bar staff I’ve ever encountered. They flat out lied to my face about what had been charged to the card. Claimed I had bought a vodka and coke, which I 100% did not order. No receipt, no accountability, no way to dispute it just their ugly smug word against mine.

Let me be clear, this isn’t just poor service. This feels like a scammy little racket. The system is set up perfectly for customer exploitation, with no way to track your purchases or dispute false charges. Once you hand over your cash, you’re basically at the mercy of whoever’s behind the bar and they know it.

The vibe? Sticky floors, soulless energy, and staff who treat you like an inconvenience for even asking where your money went. Honestly, if you like being ripped off and condescended to, this place is for you. If not? Save yourself the money and steer way, way clear.

Shameful excuse for a bar. One star...

The perfect location for a night out for anyone. Discover the child inside yourself again and be part of this amazing experience. The entry fee of 200crowns is by itself not very much, but you are able to buy drinks, food or hookas inside with your balance of 200 anyways. A labyrinth of corridors and different rooms, with bars, stages and tables invite you to spent your entire night, listening to live music, DJs, watching a movie or playing table football. Being able to buy affordable drinks at every corner and a restaurant inside the nightclub enable you to spend the entire night meeting new people and dancing to different genres of music al playing at the same time, but in separate rooms. I was flabbergasted from the moment I set foot into this establishment, the cue of 45 minutes was well worth it, and I would do it again, every time I visited Prague. 10/10 must visit for every nightlife enjoyers

I recently visited this bar, and I must say, it’s absolutely stunning! The ambiance is beautifully designed, with cozy lighting, stylish decor, and a great overall atmosphere. It’s the perfect place to relax with friends or enjoy a night out. One of the highlights of my visit was definitely the “Slurpy” cocktail. It was incredibly delicious, well-balanced, and bursting with unique flavors. I highly recommend trying it if you’re ever there! However, I have to mention that the bartender made me feel a bit uncomfortable. Their demeanor came across as intimidating, which took away from the otherwise pleasant experience. A more welcoming attitude would make this place truly perfect. Overall, it’s a fantastic bar with great drinks and a gorgeous setting. I’d still recommend it, especially for the amazing Slurpy cocktail!
